Cure is a silly and meaningless word here.

Autism is not going to end, however, there are many mental and physical comorbidities that can be treated.

I take Adderall and Celexa and they have helped me enormously.

What do you mean a cure? What is there that needs curing? And how do we even know that we are the ones with the problem, maybe its the nts that have one but make us have to fit in with them? Why an earth cant they just fit in with us! You cant cure autism and aspergers but you can learn how to manage it. There are people who can teach you how to do this, i am being made to see one soon.

Cures are for diseases. Aspergers/autism isn't a disease.

You following my logic here?

We should be focusing on improving the symptoms, not completely removing it. I hear that the gluten free dairy free diet works well, also go buy some books for improving social skills. Most importantly, go out and socialize.

I wouldn't last a day on a diet like that. :P

But still, there's symptom improvement, and we may even learn to fit in. But autism can't be cured, and it will be a part of us until the day we all die.

The diet is frustrating to say the least. As for treating normality, even more impossible than AS. Their close minded ego can not be helped

Thanks :)

Yes cannabis helps, so does ashtanga yoga. Many have also found MDMA and certain classical hallucinogens to be useful.

Cannabis can be used every day. The others are for occasional 'social mind opening' work.

I find that relationships (with girls) don't work so well without cannabis. Love makes you want to be a better person so one can be forgiven for thinking that quitting cannabis is the right thing to do.

your welcome

i dont think its a disease so it cant be cured but it can be effectively treated and NATURAL mind expanding substances (i find the term mind altering substances to be vulgar) have helped me socialize easier i dont smoke on a daily basis either i usually only smoke a few times a week if that i find it works because as i mentioned in a different post its a social leveler breaks down social barriers and puts everyone on the same level

i have no interest in unnatural or manmade drugs, in order for it to be a drug it needs to be shipped off to some university in Germany to be turned into a powder or a pill to be sold as a pharmaceutical

I cannot believe that you would dare discuss engaging in substance abuse in the ADOLESCENT forum. This incident will not go unreported.

There is no cure for autism.

There are solutions, though, that can help you cope with your autism. If you are having problems with your autism, such that it impairs your preferred lifestyle, perhaps it is time you seek help. Medications, diversions, and other therapies might help deal with your difficulties, but please make sure it is within legal and medical bounds.

As for those that recommended cannabis, your replies are unacceptable. Kevinjh is right. This is an Adolescent Autism Forum, and talking about illegal drugs in this light is, at best, inappropriate.

My parents and my educators have always told me I was disabled because I had autism. This isn't true?
