I dislike going to the cinema a lot. I went there only twice, the films I saw were nice, but I didn't like the idea of being in a room with more than 10 people (though I had been able to control myself, since I had taken my meds), I was constantly distracted by the people whispering and laughing during the films, the screen was too bright for me, and I couldn't stand having to be seated for the whole time (though my meds, again, helped to calm me down). I don't understand why people like the cinema so much. Anyone else dislikes cinema like me?

I find the cinema too loud and too bright, with too many people. I avoid going.

I voted "yes I do" because I thought I was voting for the thread title, "Anybody else dislikes going to the cinema.

So the one yes should instead have been another no.

I used to go when I was younger, I especially hated when you where sat in front of a gang of thugs who would put their feet up on the back of your seat so that their filthy shoes where nearly touching your hair.

I don't mind it terribly much, like, it's not something I dread doing if there's a particularly good film. I refuse to see any substandard movie though, even if my entire family is going to see it, because I can't justify wasting the time, money and energy for something I may not enjoy. In fact, sitting through a bad movie in a theater is something I abhor. I agree though, the other people in the theater are incredibly distracting and while seeing The Hobbit a few days ago, in a packed theater, I was repulsed by all the sneezing and coughing and felt like I had to hold my breath half the time. Can't forget to mention how much I hate when people sit directly next to me as well. Ah, the sounds of popcorn being consumed, asjkgasjgklj.

Most of the time, I love going to the cinema, but if some chavs come in just to mess around, I really cannot handle it emotionally. The scumbags sit there shouting, swearing, throwing food at people, and the staff often do nothing about them. as*holes.

I'm not a big fan of going to the cinema.

It's too expensive, you spend a fortune on the ticket and then a small fortune on really nasty food (popcorn good...nachos with synthetic 'cheese', hot dogs that taste like chlorine served in stale buns, flat coke, etc. bad) - if you want a good seat etc. then you have to pay twice as much, and if it's busy then you end-up in a terrible seat with your neck strained and a headache from sitting too close to the screen. Then you have people talking or playing on their mobile phone during the film so you're distracted.

It's better in my opinion to wait until it's on DVD or TV, if you bother watching the film at all, unless it's a social thing...but even then I'd prefer going to a pub where you can chat over sitting in silence for a few hours. The idea of sitting doing nothing for several hours doesn't appeal.

I just went. No, not at all. I was covering my ears to avoid the noise of popcorn and there was too many people. I won't being going for a while again.

I don't care much about going to the cinema unless if someone is kicking my seat, using a device that produces light, or a baby crying. Usually, I have at least one of those issues, so I don't like going to the cinema more than once a month!

Too much money. I'd go if it was free, though. There's no dollar theaters around here either. Plus most movies coming out no longer strike my interest.

I don't mind them, actually. Some people can be annoying when I'm trying to watch a movie, though.

Some are just plain rude, actually. When I went to go see Life of Pi, they couldn't get the projector to work properly. They gave us all a free snack to accommodate us, but this one guy has the nerve to scream at them to get someone "who knew what they were doing" to fix it.

Yes because there's something about the big screen I don't like, and I only like to watch movies that are out on dvd

I don't go very often. Usually only when there's a movie I really, really want to see, or when I'm going with good friends.

I find a lot of cinemas too loud. Usually, during the ads in the beginning - or sometimes during loud action scenes - I put fingers in my ears because otherwise it really hurts.

Fortunately I lived in rather small towns so far and most of the time the cinema was pretty empty. I'm always worried people might not shut up during the movie but they always did so far.

I actually love going to the cinema when there's a really good movie. It's a kind of special occasion for me since I go seldom, and I'm usually really excited afterwards because I'm thinking about the movie I just saw.

I just wait for the movie to be out for a month or so, and see a morning or early afternoon showing. Very few people that way. Also I sneak in snacks and cans of soda in my jacket.

I enjoy going to the cinema, but only because of the food and the movie. I tend to find the seats very uncomfortable, I find it noisy, bright, and overwhelming. I only go when I'm with another person, and stick with them as much as I can.

i dont mind the cinema, and some movies should really be seen on the big screen.
it might be becouse the cinema i usually go to isn't that bad; it's got wide comfortable seats with plenty of legroom (you dont usually have to stand up to let others pass in front of you), and they are careful with the volume.
also, becouse it's slightly out of town, it's rarely full, so there is almost always a free seat on both my sides.

I like the cinema, when ever I have some spare money I would often go with either friends or just my girlfriend.
