If it's any comfort to you, I used to want to learn to shoot arrows. But now I have joint problems, so that is out! :(

I don't shoot bows or arrows but I'm proficient with a sling. Not the elastic kind, but the twirl and release kind. I primarily use it to play fetch with the dog but it is a formidabl weapon, and everything from frozen eggs to d cell batteries can be ammo.

I used to shoot archery when I was in junior high and a little bit while in high school. I used to shoot for at least an hour a day, probably 4-5 times a week. I got really good. I got to the point where I'd stick a 3x5 index card into a haystack with a pencil and I'd be able to hit the pencil maybe 3 out of 5 times at 20 yards. I never split an arrow (aluminum arrows are very hard to split), but I have broken nocks a few times, not to mention punching several holes in the fletching. I really should have learned to refletch my own arrows. I used a Martin Tiger compound bow. I miss it. It's been over 20 years now since I last shot a bow. I keep thinking about getting back into it, but the cost is too prohibitive right now. If I did somehow manage to get back into it, I'd probably do Olympic-style shooting with a recurve bow.

My dad wants me to come and visit so he can take me to the gun range. He also owns a crossbow.

Love archery, but can't shoot anymore due to neck and shoulder problems.

Making bows and arrows is still fun, though.

I did archery when I was in Junior school. I shot recurve. My dad shot longbow. I don't shoot any more though. I enjoyed it but I prefer badminton.

I think it's really funny that 100% of the poll was "Who Cares?" and then there are all these answers! :)

I've fired bows before, but I haven't done it in a long time, and I'm not very good at it.

Recurves mainly. I had a compound bow but it seemed really noisy most of the time.

how old was the compound cause i have a reletivly new one from 3 or 4 years ago and its pretty quiet and the newer ones are like ninja silent. i have a recurve like i said but its a lil heavy for me still but my longbow is easy to pull back. traditional is fun just takes getting used to

I shoot a Long Bow, although the one I have now is only 45 pound draw. Unfortunately my village has no public are for shooting in, and my yard is really not large enough to shoot in, so I have to go out of town to my grandparents house to shoot.

My uncle took me hunting with his long bow once. It was really fun. :)

My P.E. teacher got mad when I brought my bow to class one day during archery training and ended up putting an arrow part way through the gym wall.

I don't do it much any more because I have no bowstring or arrows (DOH), but I used to enjoy it. My box is an old hunting bow (meant to take down large game mostly) that is, oddly enough, meant for a leftie. I found it comfortable despite the fact I'm a rightie.
