Just today I answered a call for my mother (who was out) and forgot to get the person's name (the person on the phone was talking so fast I couldn't remember their name when they said it), but told them that this was my mother's residential phone number. The person on the phone then said they knew my mother's mobile number and that they would call her on that number. So I thought I had done the right thing. My mother came home shortly after and literally exploded at me because I didn't get this person's name and number and didn't respect her personal information.

Then I got frustrated at myself because a phone call I thought at the time had gone well I had completely screwed up.

Sometimes I feel I shouldn't tell my parents anything because they seem to keep picking at everything I did wrong.

I don't know why your parent's went boom, but with all the scams running these days, your mother is probably paranoid. If there is Caller ID or an answering machine on the phone, just don't answer it. I'm live away from my family, so I'm watchful of those things. If my kid was giving out personal information, I'd be mad too. I couldn't say how my reaction would be as my roommate is trustworthy, but she has gone boom a few times when I talked about her and she didn't know what it was about.

You only gave one example of your mother going off on you, so I can't really tell you why. She probably thinks you can't do things right, just because you have a disability. My mom and aunt were like that. My male friend kind of babies me and my roommate when he takes us places. He knows I'm not like him, he's NT. Some people just don't get it.
