Do any of you ever feel the urge to just glomp/hug someone?

I feel it a lot with certain people...but seeing as I'm seen as "creepy" or "wierd" it probably wouldn't go over too well.

Other crazy urges are welcome in this thread as well. :D

I have the sudden urge to silently walk up behind people and pounce on them... at school. It's so much fun because then they scream 'cause they don't see me coming! ;)

People get an extremely volitile response from me that falls short of violence/intimidation when they do that to me. That type of hug is one of my worst sensory triggers. I've refused to be hugged by my mom because her hugs are alot like that, and the only way I could cope was by giving a bone crushing hug back that she couldn't stand. It probably ended up feeling equally bad for both of us. I can tolerate letting my sister in law give me a light hug, and I can hug one of my dogs, because she's a muscular great dane mix and likes the hard squeezing hugs.

I only do this to one or two people, however, and they've gotten used to it. However, I don't remember how many people I've warned not to do this to me...

Hugs can be for me physically and emotionally overwhelming. There is a tingling sensation in my upper body when under physical contact, and then there is the destinctive 'human' smell. I don't like people holding my shoulder or patting me on the back either, though usually I don't let on about it.

I get the urge to startle people more than anything else. This is perfectly easy to do without touching them. Just walk up behind them and start talking like you were already having a conversation. I walk fast. I can do this. ((Unfortunately it's harder to do indoors as my shoes squeak.))

I don't like being hugged by alot of people. It really makes me uncomfortable when people just open their arms to give me a hug when I'm not expecting it. I sometimes flinch.
I love being in contact with my girlfriend.

Oh! I love to hug people. but people don't love to hug me. well My guy friend Peter does. but I think thats just because he's odd, and we haven't seen each other alot this year so he's huggy. anyway, I love to get close to people and hug and touch them. I just try not to show that I like it because they think I'm creepy. I can hug pretty damn hard, and I always have to remember to be gentle. especially when I was little, one time I hugged my friend so hard he turned blueish...(when I was 7)

Yeah! With me though, the little things mean a lot. Like if I'm upset, but I'm hiding it, if someone like holds my arm or puts their hand on my shoulder or something little like that, and attempts to meet my eyes, yeah, things like that are really nice. I love being touched, I really do. It conveys more than words can. Being touched is special. I haven't had a boyfriend yet, I've got enough in my life, but yeah, being kissed or hugged like that is my heaven.

Edit: (16th Dec, 05) We do have a boyfriend, and it'sabsolute heaven being in his arms.

The Only one who really hugs me at school now is my friend. it's weird cuz he never liked it when I tried to hug him before, But I feel like I'm starved for it at schhool, so I take it when I can get it... 8)

Exactly! Another example is when certain girls sit next to me on the bus (usually the quiet ones) I just sit there wishing for a hug or something. One time my friend put her head on my shoulder, but retracted with a "just kidding"

Another friend of mine always greets me with a big long tight hug. Gotta love people like that. :D
