I have Asperger's and most people I've met told me I act normal. They didn't know I had Asperger's until I told them, but for others it can be much more obvious. Have you ever met a person with Asperger's who tends to suck their teeth and moan for no apparent reason? I've heard of people with classic Autism doing this, but never just Asperger's? Are there other reasons for someone to do this? Do anyone you (with Asperger's) do this? Is it conscious or involuntary? Also, do you tend to make similar noises while eating? Do any of you talk/whisper to yourself?

I talk to myself, but only when no one else is around.

This could be something that transcends people in general, whether they are affected by autism or asperger's. Although it could be signs of anxiety (as I am subject to that). Most of the weirdness surrounding me is involuntary. I am not aware of my actions until they're brought to my attention. I talk out loud, but only when the noises in my head become overbearing. I also rock myself (a bad habit which my mother vehemently tells me to stop; a crazy person symptom she calls it) when I'm sitting. I also pace around a lot, sometimes for hours on end. Pacing has often been attributed to anxiety.

I probably have a few strange habits that I'm unaware of. Usually my habits aren't physical or verbal. I have a strict daily routine and all of my stuff is very organized. Do any of you guys have similar habits? How do others react to them?

It's been a long time since somebody has said they didn't think I wasn't normal. Pretty much everyone who meets me says they don't think I have Aspergers, I agree for the most part. I may have small little traits but not to where it affects me or anything. I did some weird things when I was younger but I've long grown out of those things. The most weird things I do is I sometimes accidentally say something weird and a person doesn't know how to respond, but even that is somewhat rare.

I talk to myself all the time and inanimate objects. Plus, I chew the inside of my cheek.

I only talk to myself to process my thoughts better.

I rock (several people have commented on this before). I also suck my thumb and feel/smell my hair when I think no one is looking. I also don't really make eye contact. Other than that, I think I'm too much of a background character for anyone to notice anything off about me. I'm also fairly good at interacting with others normally as long as they're not complete strangers.

I've done the moaning thing... Came back to and my design teacher, and about 6 others were looking at me wondering if I was alright. Shrugged it off as me being deep in thought (Had headphones on at the time, couldn't hear a thing :P)

I'm usually the one who finds myself constantly making random conversations in my head with my "alter ego". :|

Thats what i do aswell, due to my size and weight I can vibrate the floor easily and irritates the entire class. Only my close friends and certain teachers are able to tell i have AS. My ICT teacher said that my AS only shows rarely, and he could only detect a slight differnece.

I talk to myself a lot. I'm also in the same situation where people didn't know I had Asperger's until I told them. One of my friends didn't even believe me.
