People seem to make random noises at my school and everyone laughs. Meanwhile, my well thought out jokes just completely go over their heads. is there any reason for this? They also seem to love repeating memes, even though all but 4 are completely idiotic. The 4 I like aren't even acknowledged by most teenagers either...

Is there some context to this I'm missing? Some tribal bonding perhaps?

Kids at my school find it funny when people say things like, "You're ret*d" or "Your mom" (how is that even an insult/joke?). It's kinda sad, no one ever puts wit into their jokes. What kind of random noises do kids make at your school?

Shrill screams, walrus "ugggghs" and general whining.

But yes, what you said is also a valid point. I miss when people actually tried to make good jokes instead of lowering their standards to find non-jokes funny.

I thought it was just the boys at my school who did that, the vocalize at the top of their lungs over and over again, it gets really REALLY annoying.

I make weird noises when I'm messing around with family. There's just something oddly... comforting about it? It's almost like reassurance that I can say or do obnoxious things, and no one will hate me for it. I certainly don't do it in public, though.

For some reason, a simple fart would get my 'peers' in my class going. Others would simply burst out laughing because one student smiled at a teacher.

Of course, this was my GCSE Business class for dead end drones. Why did i not pick French? Or Art?

I thought I was the only one too! What gets me most bothered is mouth noises. Farting, "clucking", whistling, and weird sucking noises drive me nuts. I've come quite close to punching people before for random noises.

Hm, maybe it's a new way to laugh at differently-abled people... People at my school have been using 'autism' as a basis for jokes, and have said 'omg you act so autistic', which to me is mildly humerous. If only they knew...

It's exactly the same at my school, except instead of "autistic" it's "BOCE". The boys all make really weird noises, and it really irritates the teachers. I don't see the point.

I only really enjoy humour that has some actual wit, however vague, to it. Word play, double entendres, actual irony, etc. False 'randomness' and repetitive, vaguely insulting phrases like "Your mum" just aren't funny. I can't see any value in them at all.

Because they see the nosies as silly.
It's just their sense of humor.

I have people that do random s**t/sounds in my school. I actually yelled at someone to shut up because they were doing random noises and I couldn't concentrate on my homework. Their reaction was just them staring at me. I also notice some people making fun of OCD which I would want to shout at them but I have better judgement than doing that. Besides, every time someone makes random noises; I question their intellegence.

The only thing I tend to find funny when it comes to people making random noises is the awkward break of silence inbetween...magically the whole group seems to get set off *snaps finger* just like that! It's so weird yet confusingly humourous...
