Hi,
I'm fifteen, and I'm usually 75-99% sure that I have Asperger's. I would like to try and get a diagnosis, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this. My main worry is that I couldn't ever communicate my suspicions to my parents - not even by writing a letter or anything indirect like that. I want to be as sure as I can before I tell them.
I live in the U.K. Will I be able to make an appointment at the doctor's about Asperger's? I was thinking that perhaps the doctor could give their opinion: if they doubt that I have it, my parents need never know, but if I go for a diagnosis they will probably be needed to answer questions on my childhood.
Thanks!

I'm not sure about the U.K., but here in the US, it doesn't have to be a doctor who can give you a diagnosis. In the state of Washington, for instance, it can be a Board Eligible Neurologist, Board Eligible Psychiatrist, Licensed Psychologist, Board Certified Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician.

Specialists and therapists in autism and Asperger's can be found from this site that serves Canada and the US:
