Meltdown is like having a strong emotion inside and you have no idea what to do to get rid of it. It forces you to cry, yell, jump, hit stuffs. You feel overwhelmed by it. You know it is stupid and you shouldn't feel that way but your can't control it. You have some control over your actions (you can hold them a few mins and escape somewhere where you are alone, you can decide not to hit things and just hit the air instead etc. but thats it) but not the emotion itself, you have to let it go, somehow. If you don't do it fast enough the emotion might destroy something inside you and the avoided meltdown changes into a shutdown. You get "blind" and "deaf" to the outside world for a while because the emotion was too strong for your senses. Shutdown is like temporary blindness after looking at a strong light.

Kiriae nailed it.

It seemed to happen to me alot more when I was younger, when a teacher kept pushing on me on something, like penmanship, and after a while you just can't take the constant barrage (or at least to you it seems like a constant barrage).

A meltdown is like having a panic attack or getting really upset, confused or angry about something mostly something you feel strongly for and it defiantly it is a very overwhelming feeling. I've had a bunch of them my self and every now and again still do, I find when I have meltdown I find it hard to control myself and my feelings, and they do happen every now and again my last one being around a week ago. Don't worry it happens to us all at some-point in a life just maybe more for us AS guys and girls, It can be avoided but its not easy, the best thing to do is try think straight and be as calm as you can or to do something that makes you feel happy and relaxed. If you wanna talk anymore about it feel free to message me if you like.
