Do you take meds? For aspergers or anything else? Do they work? What are you on?

Yes, I do but there are no drugs SPECIFICALLY for aspergers/autism. Although, some drugs may help with sensory issues and social anxiety.

Haven't for a long time. The concept doesn't sit well with me, although I'm aware of how beneficial medication is.

Nel. Only took painkillers a few weeks ago for my arm but that's it.

Not that nobody had wanted to put me on pills...

If I can't function without meds, does that mean I have something worse than AS?

I've been on a lot of them over the years, but they keep giving me antipsychotics.

The wikipedia page says antipsychotics are used to treat autism, which I never knew, so if you're not diagnosed with anything else and they're giving you them it sounds like they're treatment for autism. That's the best I can give you; if wikipedia says that's a usage.

Yeah. Lately they haven't been helping quite as much, though.

I'm trying to figure out what meds work right now and it's been pretty rough.

I've tried:

Wellbutrin - gave me a slight kick, but didn't help with depression or anxiety.
Lexapro - gave me serotonin syndrome and lots of fatigue.
Prozac - didn't do much of anything for me at all, still fatigued.
Effexor - crushed my sex drive and I was still fatigued. Withdrawal on this one was a nightmare ... I seriously wonder how this is even legal?

I've been taking Trazodone for sleep and that's the only thing that works. I'm going to be meeting with the doctor soon and coming up with a new plan, but right now I'm really struggling with fatigue first, anxiety second, and depression third.

Abilify- for extreme fears similar to paranoia from OCD as well as hallucinations (non psychotic ones but not pseudohallucinations it's hard to explain) and helps mood swings a little bit at least the ones that go to anger, also helps me sleep

Adderall- for my bad attention and inability to sit still and difficulty starting tasks from ADHD

Coming Soon: will finally get on antidepressants that I desperately need

I've reacted horribly to antidepressants. The lithium is helping me with my meltdowns finally.

20 milligram of citalopram. Recently cut down from 30 because me and my mom thought it was what was making me emotionally deprived.

I take 150mg of Sertraline daily... that is when I remember to. For about a month I wasn't taking it consistently, and lately I've been feeling really messed up. I hope I start feeling better again soon, as I've started taking it on a regular basis again.
