You should try it. Chat rooms are made for chatting! It's just like on forums; there's going to be a lot of friendly people and then, people who don't know what the chizz they're talking about. And it also depends on what you talk about. But I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. Good luck!

Ooh. I don't get what people would humiliate you about. You'll be talking to people who use it like you and it should be people you know, at least a bit. Plus the chatrooms you mentioned (I actually don't know other ones) are both completely safe. Then, if you think you're going to get humiliated because you're part of the spectrum here, don't be cuz people will just accept you as you are. Stay close to your friends and acquaintances, and just talk to them normally

I don't believe in stranger danger. If I cross path with a pedo I'll block him/her and thats it.
