I'm 12 years old (almost 13) with Aspergers. I'm going into high school in 3 months and I need help in making friends. I have 1 really close friend in primary school. Any tips :?:

Talk to people, just don't be too intrusive and do not monopolize conversations. NT's don't like that.

Join a club if there's one that fits your interests. You'll make friends who have points in common with you.

Also don't be afraid of talking to new people if you mess up or feel lonely. Never give up!

Thanks for the advice! I love being around people and I wish I wasn't such a loner. What kind of clubs could I join?

I don't know. Depends of what's available at your school and if any of them interests you.

I know the phrase "just be yourself" is old and over used, but it works very well. I tried it and I had a few friends on either my first or second day. I was mainly friends with the gamers/cool nerds but I eventually befriended most of the school. I did however stay away from the Plastics, D-bags, and the Stoners. I would however refrain from expressing your special interests to other people unless you actually know they like the same things, and also try to not let your autism show unless people are actually cool with it, or if someone else has other similar disorders like ADHD or OCD.

I learnt not to talk about my old special interest a long time ago. All I would talk about was a game called minecraft and the kids got so sick of me. It sounds so stupid now when I look back on it. But thanks for the advice, I'm not aiming to be popular but just liked by all.

Believe it or not, some of my friends love things like Minecraft and Happy Wheels.
