My cousin is having a baby in about 4 months and I still don't know how to deal with it. I'm happy for her, but all I think about when it's mentioned is how much babies cry.

I know it's not the same as having a new sibling (never dealt with that either) but my family is very close and I'm sure we'll be visiting a lot. What changes should I expect and what are the social challenges of having a new baby in the family?

Like you said, noise is a big one. Perhaps bring noise canceling headphones on trips to your cousins. Also smells, this should only be briefly problematic as a diaper would be quickly changed by your cousin or another caregiver of the child. You also may want to be prepared to leave a room if necessary as some forms of stimming or loud noises from you could set of the baby, but that depends on what your behaviors are. Best of luck to you and your cousin.
