Do any of you get invited to parties by people at college or your friends?

I don't and it really gets me down as I feel lonely like I'm missing out

I go to college and I can't get past a day without someone saying 'oh I got so drunk last night', 'we all went down to (name of destination) and had a great time'.

Do any of you have this problem or anything to add?

The only time that I've been to a party with friends from school is when I went to my class of 2007 prom, when I finished Year 11. It went as I expected (went OK), but I wish I had been a bit more socially active.

I've been invited to one party...and attended.
I wish that I didn't go though...I had my possessions stolen from me and was drugged before being left outside, 15km away from my house and left to find my way back.
This wasn't at high school though, it was students from my previous course. At high school...I was never invited.

At high school I wasn't invited to parties at all. But since I joined Facebook, people have been inviting me to their parties quite often. They just tell everyone on their "friends" list. I must say I quite like going there - drunken people are fun to watch and it's the only opportunity for me to speak to others.
So if someone wants to be invited to parties, I advise to join Facebook and add people you know as "friends" - they will surely invite you to a few parties.

I never get invited to parties but when I hear people talking about what happened at the last party they went to, I tend to think I probably don't really want to go to any parties anyway.

i get invited when there is something bigger with lots of people but usually not when someone is having a smaller party with closer friends, because i don't have close friends at school

i generally like partys. tiny ones with just 1-2 friends, drinking and talking and big ones with lots of people, drinking and dancing :D

Used to go to several party's, but most of the times I left quite early. Less chance to make stupid remarks and I seen most of it after a short time anyway.

Never been invited to one, and happy about it, I dunno how to say no to someone asking me to go. From what I have heard, it would be horrible for me, almost all talking and dancing.

When I get invited to a party, I'm usually in the "rent-a-crowd" so I don't bother.

There was a party awhile ago that I went to. My friend and I drank a lot of beer (the beer was free! :D ) and we didn't speak to anyone else. There were no bright flashing lights and no loud music, so I actually enjoyed it.

But most parties suck: loud music, lots of people, bright flashing lights, everyone is flirting and there's often beer rationing. :(

Not really, but I am a host that calls parties.

"Smith, party of 4, table is now ready, Smith party of 4."

Why do you need an invite?

I get invited often...and go to them occasionally.

Honestly though...those of you who don't aren't missing all that much. Typically going to large parties results in at least 1 of the following 2 things for me.

1. Being extremely overstimulated due to constantly being around people I don't know, and generally not having a good time as a result.
2. Being completely trashed.

Typically, I prefer small gatherings with close friends to parties any day.

I don't need an invite, I just feel like I'm missing out that's all.

I never got invited to a party in high school. In college I got invited to one on the first day there by a couple of drunk chicks looking for random freshmen to invite to the first party of the semester. I went & had a hard time finding a drink at that one. After that it was harder for me to find invitations to parties (although there's one frat that throws weekly 2-kegger for everyone). I like those better because I don't have any friends and it's easier to be inconspicuous and just stay by the keg and drink. A small gathering sounds horrible to me.
