I am a DSL user, and the main flaw is that you can only have 1 modem at a time connected. I wouldn't mind, but I lack a router and am trying to get to use it for my 360. Any tips?

Buy a router? Even the wireless ones aren't too expensive anymore.
Problem solved.

I would, but allowance has been cut to nil.

depending on your age, try to make money else were. Its starting to get nice out ( at least it is here). SO maybe mowing lawns? Raking leaves?

Or somehow get you allowance back.

really a router would be the way to go. Both Clients could be served at the same time. I have cable and we use a router to split it to 3 computers and 3 laptops (wireless).

you might also be able to use a crossover cable, but that would req 2 NICs in the computer, and I'm not sure how you go about manually setting the IP addy on the 360 (I'm sure theres a way though, mine get is via DHCP server).

A second NIC for the computer and a length of crossover cable would be the cheapest. 10/100 NICs are ridiculously cheap (I've given away dozens), you could check the couch for small change and buy one.
