When I go to college, I plan on majoring in psychology as well, and then going to graduate school to become a psychiatrist. Then I want to work for a couple years and then go back to school to become a music educator and then (possibly) teach at an all-aspie school if I get a shot. I think it would be really cool to help others like myself while doing something I really liked at the same time. I seriously think that band could help some aspies, if taught the right way. It teaches more teamwork skills while still being able to be an individual; you can also be extremely technical or extremely artistic (depending on music type); plus it gives people more of a chance to get to know other people and to be a part of a family because from what I was taught, band is a family. Anyways, band has been extremely helpful from my perspective as an aspie; hopefully I could help others like it's helped me!
