I saw Tony Attwood a couple weeks ago. He said that the things that aspies do to relax, computers, video games, and other thing can get us more wound up. He suggested meditation to slow down the mind. Does anyone meditate. Does it help?

When I can, not as often as I like nowadays but it without doubt helped me many times.

My aspie brother meditates, or at least I assume he does, he certainly talks about it a lot. It is one of his special interests. Can't say I've seen any evidence of it actually helping him though to be honest.

I do it and it helps me stay centered, more focussed and more together in all kinds of situations.

I run in place and do some small workouts (pushups and the like) every couple days a week. It helps.

I have done it, not so much lately but I belive in it. I swear that through it I have actualy descovered my spirit guide, if you belive in it, it is the black leopeard (panther). I have had it work but lately I just can't calm my head, I used to be able to remove all thoughts but lately just have not been very motivated to do so. I just do small ones now days.

YES it is VERY helpful!! !

When you're dealing with AS it's kinda like, your emotions are bare nerves, so if those emotions aren't stable then things get crazy! Meditation is the single greatest thing to calm nervous emotions.

I used to mediate, but I had a horrible experience and I haven't meditated since. I was meditating and I suddenly felt like I was covered in an electrical current--not painful but just that feeling. I felt like that for hours.

Literally what I said. I was meditating and I felt a sensation...I call it electric, but I guess it can be sort of compared to when some part of your body is asleep and it's tingling, only this sensation kept moving all over me and nothing was asleep. I had this for hours and it scared me. I finally went to bed and when I woke up the next morning it was gone.

A sort of mind-awake body-asleep sensation? It's just that you get that at a certain stage before astral projection. This sensation (not necessarily yours) came to me once and it was spectacular.

As for meditation I need to do it more: anger is brewing inside of me too much and I need the motivation and concentration, but I'm having the white bear sensation. Relating to the psychology experiment in which subjects were told not to think about "white bear" when told to speak out loud trains of thought in their mind, but it came back to them constantly. Same thing with me and turning back on whilst meditating.

Its cool if you manage to remove all thoughts in your head, it seems to then make do much better in things. At the moment I just can not remove all the thoughts, like I am afraid to lose them.
