As others have said, the best you can do is stay true to yourself. You don't have to try and be something you're not just to fit in. Others may not like you for the way you speak or act, but why be bothered by that? As long as there's someone who likes you and loves you just the way you are, there's no need to sacrifice your own self for the majority's acceptance.

Yeah, I agree. I remember when I was younger everyone was using phrases such as "this sucks" or "crap". I couldn't figure out why anyone would use them. A few children and I were together at some sort of gathering, and I tried to say that something sucked. It felt so wrong, and everyone just stared at me and condemned me for it yet they were saying it all the time. Maybe what I described as sucking was really rude or something, I don't recall. =/

In Georgia the English language is even more brutalized. We have the usually teens swearing along with red necks. Tobe honest some things I've heard are just faceplam worthy

I don't understand the mentality either. If someone says something is gay, nobody will go near it, so they won't 'catch the gay'. Makes me frustrated.
