When I pray, I feel like my soul tries to escape and that my heart bleeds uncontrollably. Can anyone tell me why? ':('':?:')

You may be a mystic. Have you ever read Teresa of Avilla? Or Meister Eckert? Or St John of the Cross?

There are many people who were mystic who are now called "Autistic" And there are some autisitcs who couldbe mystics. I think it can't be labled. It is not an illness.

You may be one!

Interesting. No, I can't tell you, but Sorenna may be right. I am so far opposite from being a mystic that when I read the mystics, it almost seems like a foreign language. I'm glad God hears me anyway.

I haven't heard of a case like this.
I would ask a few local pastors that question.

I'm the opposite, I never experience the "weird feelings" I'm supposed to get with mystical stuff. Mum says when you hold a crystal it make your hand vibrate and tingle. For me, I just feel like a twat holding a pretty rock. Maybe I'm too sceptical, I dunno.

It's your subconscious telling you to get off your knees and quit talking to yourself.

Not that I'm very good at understanding little smileys like that, but hey if you're religious I'm not trying to offend. I'm just pointing out my opinion.

I have suspicions that those on the autism spectrum may have a greater connection to this spiritual universe and may have a reduced connection to the physical universe. This might explain why there are some "low-functioning" autists who are very difficult to make contact with in the physical realm.

Now, obviously there are many here who reject the possible existence of anything other than physical reality. But, since you are already praying, you apparently have some awareness of the spiritual universe.

I'm not entirely sure of what you mean when you say that your "heart bleeds uncontrollably". In the literal interpretation I picture blood vessels in your heart rupturing. The other thing that comes to mind is the expression "bleeding heart liberal", which still is not the correct meaning I'm sure. Do you mean that you are feeling a great deal of heartache over the things you are praying about?

Your description would indicate that you are praying on a very high spiritual level, with a great deal of kavanah. (Kavanah is Hebrew and means "concentration", "intensity" or "intent".) Many people pray with no kavanah at all - they are just a physical body mouthing the words, with no spiritual connection. (As Rabbi Arama said "If you do not concentrate in your heart, how is your prayer any different than the mindless chirping of birds?") It would seem to me that you are approaching the opposite end of the spectrum where your spiritual connection is so high that you are beginning to forget about the physical connection.

So, my conclusion would be that you should not be concerned about these feelings. You are probably doing better at prayer than most everyone around you. Seek purity and simplicity in your life, pray within God's Will and you will find that your prayers are being answered.

You could be hyperventilating. Try breathing into a paper bag for no more than a minute, and if the feeling goes away, then you're hyperventilating. If not, then it could be something as simple as low blood sugar to as nasty as a brain tumor.

Of course, you could always try to pray your symptoms away.

Not if you know it's just a feeling. Insanity would be being convinced that this feeling was something real. Even that might just be misreading.

Either you have some kind of problem, or you are having spiritual episodes.
I myself am kind of pagan and kind of atheist, and I agree with that person who says that people on the autistic spectrum may have more connections to the spirit world. You could be trying to float off onto the spirit plane or something.

Why not try asking a reiki master?
I am a reiki user myself.
Be sure to look up Star Children and The Photon Band.
