This morning I opened my armoire and instead of my usual well-known total chaos everything was neatly folded and lined up.

I was instantly getting into a meltdown but managed to pull me out. So when I was freaking out I fled the room and called for someone to get me my clothes from the armoire. The realisation that I just freaked out over a bloody wardrobe and how bloody autistic that was actually enabled me to get back together enough. New realisations always save me.

I'm not over it though.

I don't plan on opening my armoire until I absolutely have to in 2 hours.

It's like a different armoire altogether, the change is drastic.

This is so annoying.

Can you get someone to just go into it and mess it up? It may seem unfamiliar, but it'd be closer to your usual and perhaps you could restore it to the way you want it after that.

Hehe, cool...

I considered this. But mom would figuratively kill me for it. She hates chaos. Needs everything tidy...

It would magically change back to tidy now even if I'd mess it up, I think.

It's been all chaotic for months now though.

I decided upon trying. There's no real choice.

I would find this annoying too. You should tell her that's how you like it, and it's yours, not hers.

If it comes to a clothes war, so be it! The Second Law of Thermodynamics is on your side, my friend. Even if you prefer a relatively specific kind of disorder, there are orders of magnitude more ways to be disorganized than to be organized, so assuming your mom doesn't have something on the order of a bajillion times more energy and persistence than you do, she'll have to give up first! :D
So, maybe it takes you a few seconds to destroy the organized-ness each day. That's unfortunate, and she should just let you live how you want to live, but all that aside, it'll take her SO much longer to re-force her preference onto your clothes, that you can't lose! That is, unless she uses some kind of parental-political means (i.e. "Stop messing up your clothes or else no more food....ever."), in which case she needs take some learn-to-be-a-grown-up-and-tolerate-other-people's-ways-of-living classes.

Good luck!! !

Shocking! I have done it to the kid twice. She went off to school, and came home to find her room spotless, and everything put neatly away.

First she was shocked, then she invited friends over to see it, then she trashed the place again.

Two years later I did it again.

Now she is nineteen and says I am not allowed in her room when she is not there, or when she is there.

Someday she will clean her room.

My mess right or wrong!

I don't know how to fix things like that, but I can relate: My mother a couple times moved my entire bedroom to another room while I was at school, and enjoyed rearranging the furniture between every month and every few months.

>_> It's just a wardrobe, it doesn't matter whether it's messy or not. Get used to it.

It should be easier to find everything, anyway.
