I think I'm having a meltdown, and worst of all, I've had it since the middle of the night. I am full of sadness, but also full of rage. I just want to stop crying, my head hurts, my puffy eyes bother me, and my nose is stuffy. My mom says I should keep crying because it's healthy, but I just can't STOP! I've been crying since 3am, and I do NOT think that is healthy crying.

^^ Greetings Fickle Pickle. I am very sorry indeedy that you are upset. ^^ I believe that I am happily also occasionally blessed by magical meltdowns that appear similar to the one you have described, however perhaps not for as great an amount of time and no crying. ^^ I believe I certainly experience the sadness and rage you have described although I do not understand why this is the case as I do not wish to feel rage and am often very happy. ^^ I often find that the best method for myself is to be alone (or be with only Nell and/or Plato, my kitties) and to focus upon a particular task, such as reading. After some time, I begin to happily become calm and the meltdown fairies go home.

^^ I do hope this is of help for you.

I got not better things to say that keeping yourself well hydrated and drinking a lot of waters. A least it will keep yourself of being dehydrated from crying all the water of your body... :(

One of the purposes of crying is to remove toxins from the body. I don't believe in the saying that men shouldn't cry.

If the tears are from the sadness, then your mum's advice to cry it out is probably correct; there's no time limit to how long you should cry, and as Tomasu said, afterwards you become a lot calmer.

If it's mainly from rage that you are crying, it may take a lot longer, as I find there is a tendency in rage to keep running over the same ground in your mind, constantly thinking of all the wrongs people have done against you, and crying about it can re-inforce the misery. Whilst it may be hard to let go, for your own sake, you should try to forget the past; you're not punishing anyone by being miserable, except yourself.

Distraction works well in both cases; Tollorin's advice about fluids is good. I'd suggest hot milk or an equivalent to calm you down and go watch a DVD for an hour or so (something childish or light-hearted, nothing serious) until you feel more able to sleep.

I had a sad feeling in me last night but I didnt know why :?
I wasnt crying but through some parts of the night I felt like it. I dont know why this was though because there was nothing to make me feel sad really
There was one point where I didnt know what was what or what to do with myself :(

Noa x

Oh, give it a rest already. This was legitimate. I already stopped crying two days ago. I genuinely thank you all for your suggestions, drinking water really did help.

EDIT: I am very sorry everyone. I had typed a happy little post here, yet realised that this may have been unwise of me to do so. ^^ I am sorry for the trouble and I have now deleted the happy text here.
