feel hurt taken something personally

My cousin and her husband have been traveling around Australia visiting various people they have visited a lot of my aunts and uncles as well as my mum but not me. They claim it isn't personal but I have certainly taken ti that way I already feel left out enough as it is.

Here is what was said between me and them.

There were a lot of folks we hoped to see along the way, but simply ran out of time once we got to Sydney. Nothing personal... we were at you mum's last night and took off first thing this morning... a nice visit, but very short. Anyway, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
I guess you can say it isn't personal but it feels that way after-all you visited my mum, Mim, Alan and Mop but not me I am sure you can see how that seems personal to me especially as I was promised a visit. also i mean you guys didn't even really tell me much about your trip or that you were going on it I only found that out from others I had a vague idea you were planning something but wasn't sure so I did take it personally yeah if you hadn't seen the other family members then I would feel differently

I think you have the right to be kind of hurt, for sure. I run into this situation a lot, and I think it's really hard to tell if it's intentional or not (and I don't want to blame someone for leaving me out unintentionally, but honestly that hurts a lot too anyway). Even if they really did just run out of time it seems like they weren't considering your feelings by not keeping you updated and deciding to skip the visit to you and only you.

It seems to me that even if it was unintentional it is still hurtful and I am hurt I would have liked a visit from them and they seemed to manage to find enough time to visit all the other relatives and they have promised for a long time to visit my place and never have so yeah I am hurt.

When things like this happen to me, I think of it as that it reflects on what kind of people they are, rather than the person I am.

That is mean not coming to your place.
