My elderly cat is dying. She's not in pain, but the end is near. The vet gave her some steroids, antibiotics and some fluids to see if she perks up, but if not, I will have to have her put down as she's just getting too weak. I am hoping she'll pass peacefully in her sleep sometimes this weekend. Right now, shes stretched out in the patch of sunlight on my bed next to me, purring and looking content, but she's not eating on her own and she's already severely underweight. She looks happy though, I guess that's something. She's almost 18, and I've had her since she was kitten. She's been with me for almost half of my entire life so far, and she's been with me through some pretty awful times. She was there for me when no one else was. I've done all I could to give her a good life, and she's been the an awesome friend in return. This is killing me. I may only have days, perhaps hours left with her.
