Like the title says, I wish I could get a job. I would like to be able to earn my own money and have some independence. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of jobs available for teenagers that are suitable for somebody with AS, let alone somebody with koumpounophobia. So, I'm stuck.

I can accept it, but I don't like it.

That phobia certainly does limit your options. Have you considered getting help to overcome it?

Maybe this site will help--lots of other people have this fear and have shared their experiences here.

Not that type of button.

Why are you afraid of buttons?

I used to have that fear when I was little. Never knew it had a name until just now, though. It didn't help that my parents bought me a bunch of polo shirts in some kind of sale when I was four.
These days, I don't really have a problem with them, however, I always wear a T-shirt under any button-down shirt, and usually take the button-down shirt off when I relax. And to this day, I still hate polo shirts. The material is so uncomfortable on me. >_<

I am really sorry that you can't get a job. I am on SSI and SSDI because of my Asperger's Syndrome. I have a really hard time finding a job and keeping a job because of my Asperger's. :( Could you explain what Koumpounophobia is?
