I have tried since I was a little kid to make eye contact regularly. "Look people in the eye when you're talking to them", I heard constantly. It has barely improved and I have tried my whole life. In some ways it's become even worse, because now I sometimes involuntarily ROLL my eyes when talking to someone. So then they think I'm being a smartass or that they're boring me, when I'm actually enjoying the conversation. I'm so sick of this. It is virtually impossible for me to control, and at random times it gets even more extreme than usual. Telling me to stop during those times is about as useful as telling someone to just stop having hiccups. Maybe I need to start wearing dark sunglasses all the time to solve this s**t. Sounds so ridiculous, yet this issue can cause so many problems.
