Being a hermit

I dont have a social life and im ok with it now but every once in a while i feel VERY lonely and it sucks. I tried being more social in the past and that was very stressful and confusing. I guess I'm just human...sometimes I want a social life, I need to feel that someone is able to relate to me.

I am a hermit and can go days without seeing anyone else apart from my cat.
I have no social life, I am not unhappy about this situation at all.

I have a curious dichotomy here. I hate socialising, but if I were to be entirely alone all the time I would go utterly crazy. I need company, just not too much of it.

My partner, fortunately, is equally antisocial. The two of us spend our evenings together watching DVDs. We socialise at our respective workplaces, and that seems to be fine for me. We also have a regular monthly outing to a sceptics group, which we don't really interact much at but it means we go out for a change.

Oh, and we have a cat. She's excellent company.
