Hi, I've been diagnosed with depression recently by both a doctor and a psychiatrist/psychologist (not sure what she is) at my school and I've had a bit of counselling so far. But no matter what people say I feel so bad all the time, just sad and like I should die (tried that already, didn't work) and I self-harm a bit to try and cope. If I don't feel sad I feel dead and don't care about ANYTHING anymore, can't concentrate in lessons and don't complete homework or classwork in school...help? Anyone know any tips for improving my mental health or know what this is like?

Do you do some sort of exercise outside everyday? Healthy diet w/fruits and vegetables and no fast food?

Seriously if you're depressed.. don't do any fast food whatsoever. Its not going to help.

Ive been there, I still am sort of there, though Ive stopped self-harming for a good year or something. Yeah its hard, you feel utter crap and you just want to give up but this feeling is temporary, it will go away, suicide? Thats forever. Are you on any medication? I know that my meds have helped stabilise me, so the bad feelings arent as bad. Its cliche; but things do get better, youll learn to cope, get motivated and feel some sort of happiness again. You just have to get over this hurdle, and when you do, its completely worth it.

How old are you? Do you attend school?

I've found that getting off the video games, computers and ipods and just slumping on the couch for long alone-time television sessions can help me keep the bad thoughts from my head. Just attempt to gain the courage to do something out of the norm that you don't usually do for recreation can help. Even sitting out on your lawn (if you're living in some place warm) and reading a book or magazine can sooth your tense feelings. The suns rays are always welcoming. :3
