She was 95, and passed away almost 2 weeks ago.

I have dealt with this, but I am still having trouble. I still am grieving, and probably will for the rest of my life.

My condolences. I know it is not much of a relief, but at age 95, I am sure she has lead a happy and fruitful life, and that she found peace. I know from personal experience that I usually don't mourn, but if I do, a part of me will do forever.

There's pretty much nothing I can say that will really help you, but there does come a point of acceptance, even if you still miss them if you look.

I've lost almost all my grand parents. It sucks, and makes me wish there was some sort of after life, where everyone went to a happy place after they died. You probably hope for the same - so just don't let the religious folk sell you their cool-aide.

I did love her very much.

I don't know why it had to happen around Christmas, but it did. I know another friend who just lost her grandma, even closer to Christmas...so it seems to happen frequently.

I just wish my family weren't being so crappy about it. But that is my family, it's pretty typical.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure she knew you loved her very much.

I lost my father about 4 years ago during the month of December. It gets easier over time, but it still hurts.

Please feel free to IM me if you want to talk.

((((Hugs))))
Lisa

I'm also sorry about your loss. My family has lost many friends and relatives to natural causes in the early winter. Most of the loses happened in the beginning of January. I think that it would be worse to lose a relative before Christmas though. Hugs.Image
