Unless the film is really funny and has little or no emotional bits, I find I keep getting all emotional when I watch films for the first time. I don't so much at the cinema, but when I watched films in bed I make all my pillow all wet when I start crying, and my glasses all mist up (I only wear glasses when watching films so that I can see the subtitles better). Even if the film has a happy ending, if there is something delicate in the way the happy ending ends, I still get emotional.

I try to watch films what I know will have emotional bits in when I'm in a happier mood, but I still end up crying. I know this is quite common in especially females, but I wish there was a way to stop me from crying.

I don't often cry at films, but I think films are the only thing I do cry at at the moment (very well done emotional manipulation). The most I've cried at a film was Green Mile and it helped to pause the film, take a break (to brew up), then resume. I was still teary, but I didn't need a boxful of tissues.

However, I don't cry at as many films as you claim to, possibly only 4 films in the last few years.

Someone I knew did cry in films too but I think she's not as bad now.

A lot of moments in films make me cry too-- most often, it's the happy ending that undoes something sad. I don't think it's a bad or undesirable thing to cry at movies.

Various things make me cry when I watch films; sad, happy and even when people are selfless or genuinely kind.

I cry at everything right now - e.g. films and TV programs - I have to try to suppress it when the boyfriend is around.
Guessing I'm feeling more sad right now than I'm allowing myself to acknowledge.

I cry at films too, but now probably less than I used to. It's funny, because I'm not that quick to cry in real life.

Same. Watching a movie alone is one of the only headspaces these days where I unlock me; I will feel in ways I do not otherwise feel during the rest of my waking hours.

I would be pretty mortified to be seen by anyone else at all. I cannot imagine any other civil situation that would leave me feeling more exposed than having someone walk in while I am watching something.

I have only cried at 4 films: Secondhand Lions, Avatar, X Men's redent prologue and The Lion King.
