So, first off let me say i have a problem where i pass out at random, hasn't happened in about 3 and half weeks or so which is great but my parents want two months to give any lee way and they wont describe to me how much that is so i'm not feeling to great about that in the first place, but that's just some background. i decided to try caffeine a few days ago and things were going well, how ever i have a past in which things didn't go well with caffeine, so two days after saying yes my mom calls up and say no ( im currently visiting my grandma's), now i plead my case but to no avail, and i'm told to stop immediately, i would say no i am going to keep going until i see a problem or side effect, but because i have SSI my mother is my beneficent, and i live with them so i cant say no or else they will put me in a group home, which they no i'm scared of but continue to bring up, however as i ponder over this issues for a day or so i was going to call again and try to renigotieate, but i realized that it isn't the coffee that i'm so worked up over, that has cause me to lose my apatite for the day, and to just sleep the whole day when i haven't done that in a long time, it is the fact that i don't have a lot of control over my life and these few things that i get to control give me some hope that i'm still some what in control of MY life, and when my parents step in and deny me something that i chose of my free will, it really takes a tole on my moral and spirit, and i'm kind of having a hard time pulling myself out of this ditch. What should i do? any opinions?

Oh and i'm 18, male.

Since you are legally an adult now, you may be able to take over your SSI benefits and the rest of your treatments, etc. You will have to go to your state assistance office or the local SS office to find out how to go about that. It might be necessary to have an attorney file some kind of paper work for you. If you can't afford an attorney, you could get a Legal Aid attorney. They have a sliding fee scale, based on ability to pay.

There are some things to consider, though. How good are you at keeping organized, including paying bills? If you aren't any good at keeping track of stuff like that, then it is best to have your parents in the loop to some extent, so that your bills get paid. Also, how good are you at keeping up with treatment programs and doctor appointments? Are you good at running errands and shopping? If you aren't good at handling your life on your own, then you are likely to have trouble getting control of your case.

You may be narcoleptic. Have that looked into by respiratory professionals.
