Going out with my father in law (I think he is an aspie). He called so my mil (monster in law) told him to. Couldn't figure a way out of it so I agreed. When I asked where we were off to he said it's a suprise.

I hate suprises. Anytime anyone has told me it's a suprise when we go out I figure they have decided to lock me up. I worry about that. I have made it clear to both my wife and mil if they ever try to lock me up I plan on making it really, really, really difficult so make sure before they go down that road. In retrospect probably should have kept that to myself.

Either way I'm going and I am very apprehensive about it. I keep hoping he is calling because my wife is gone and he just can't handle her. She can be tough to talk with. At least he is old. That means I should be home by 9:30.

Funny story. Good luck to you. It probably won't be all that bad.

It went well much to my suprise. We ate and talked about science. For both of us that is a favored topic. He has a phd from oxford so he is a blast to discuss it with.

On an odd aside. I went to work today and a guy I know stopped by and asked if I would come over to his house for a bbq tonight. They are quiet a wild and wacky bunch. I agreed to go.

I'm quite the social butterfly. What I don't understand is why are all these people asking me to go out when no one ever asks regularly?

:) Glad to hear things are going well.

You had mentioned in a different thread that you have gotten healthy lately, and are feeling good about it. It's not uncommon for this to have an unconscious effect on our behavior. We feel better about ourselves, which can make us happier more friendly people, and makes other people more likely to want your company. Just a thought....
