I was born 9 weeks early and weighed 2 pounds 6 oz at birth. Because of such I was severely developmentally delayed as far as speech and motor skills. My younger brother born only 1 year and 7 months after me developed normally of course. If it had not been for him I'm not sure how much longer it'd of taken me to learn. It was from him I'd copy catted from so to speak.

Doctors thought I would be developmentally delayed, and I am but not nearly as badly as they predicted. However it seems that my being born a preemie may have attributed to my autistic symptoms.

So I was wondering if any of you were born preemie as well.

I was a preemie. They took me out early so they could feed me because I was not growing the way I was supose to. It seemed to matter to the psykiatrist that gave me the Asperger diagnosis

I was born 2 months early and weighed just over 2lbs. I am much shorter in stature than average (4ft 9), although not technically a 'dwarf'. I did not walk until I was 2 1/2 yrs old, but talked my head off apparently at the appropriate age. I have always been too friendly/trusting of people, much to my detriment.
