Pretty much every day after going to college, I feel really depressed like I just wanna die and I wish I was never born. It's been this way since I started college over 3 years ago.

I feel all right when people are actually talking to me and I have something interesting to do or I do something that helps me forget. (I've stayed away from drugs and alcohol, but I have been considering alcohol... Everyone in my family are all alcoholics and drug addicts... I'm the only one who stayed away from that.)

Is this a psychological condition or something?

I've never been diagnosed for Asperger's Syndrome, because I can never seem to work up the guts to talk to a doctor on my own.
I get the feeling, though, that I have problems far worse than just AS sometimes.

Since you are in college you should have health benefits that include counseling. I would recommend checking into possibly seeing a counselor for this problem. College can be a stressful time and it is helpful to have a balance between studying and having some fun with college friends, but not so much fun it leads to alcohol use and/or drug use. Good luck and hope you can get it sorted out.

People keep telling me that. How do I work up the courage to go there to the counseling office in front of everyone?

I remember in college I went to counseling and I was referred by a doctor for stress or something. I then went to group counseling for shy and socially anxious people and then I also listened to relaxation tapes at the clinic and both of these things did help some.

I really need to commit myself to going to the counseling office, but whenever their hours are, I always just push it off because I don't feel depressed during the day.

I know the feeling. It took me two years of college before I finally convinced myself that I legitimately needed help and actually devoted the energy necessary to work up the courage to see someone. It was tough and fraught with anxiety, but I'm really glad I got the help. Basically, you've just got to really remember how terrible you feel when you're depressed and let the thought that there might be a somewhat simple medicinal cure or, hopefully, therapeutic cure, motivate you.

Thanks for the advice. I suppose it's been long enough... I should probably do it already.
