Do you understand that, while most hfa's experience emotions including sympathy, we have difficulty expressing them? What you may think is "indifference" or "not caring" is often just "not knowing what to say or how to say it". As for sympathy from neurotypicals, they come here seeking understanding and hesling from the hurt they experience from their own interactions with us. Some of them demonize us and some come to believe the misconceptions of the demonizers. Not many, if any, will give us any sympathy or compassion, and we are ill suited to do so, as badly as most of us want to oblige. If we need someone to pamper and coddle us in spite of our quirks, then we'll probably do better to hire professional care givers than we would to expect it from an online forum. Even most of those can be inadequate, at best, as many are just there for a paycheck.

Hey, I'm lonely/single also, but I like the simple fact that this site exists to remind me that there may be people like me out there. Maybe just take a break and come back later.

You're right, guys. ETLA will NOT retire from this site....... I was feeling kinda down at the time I wrote said message.... I hope I am still accepted in here, despite my various problems. I think I may be bipolar......

For these reasons:

So, if anybody needs me, good luck finding me.

-I don't have a GF (or any significant other) for that matter.

-I think I suck at socializing even here, but don't really care. I'm usually just venting casually (similar to Repent in times of need) and hoping someone will hear me and offer a friendly ear, which usually happens even if it's just one, which makes me feel like I'm not ALL that bad if even just ONE person speaks to me...

Thing is, I write really long painfully long (often detailed) posts and am aware that TLDR is a common occurrence etc. etc. and don't really care so much because the process of writing helps, and 100Knives said it well, most people here I think are pretty indifferent towards me but it is better than talking to my wall.

(Read your last post just now too). Sometimes I vent when I'm angry feeling kinda bad, then I feel bad for venting so publicly but then I'm like ah whatever too much going on in my head to worry about it! Besides, any embarrassing post will be quickly forgotten and drifted down several pages in a few days :). Not quite the same in my in-person life, but I'm learning to say whatever to that too :).

I didn't find out that I was an aspie until I was 35, 7 years ago. When I was younger I kept a journal- essentially me talking to a wall because it was all I had. Wrong planet is a far better outlet that that was. I had over 200 pages in my journal at last count- stretching back to when I was 14 in 1985.

If it bothers you so much just limit the time you spend online.

It's a good chance to work on social skills, you just have to use it sparingly. I'm only online on weekends.

^ Then how am I going to enlighten myself? I use the online time to look up stuff about sports, and other things.

Sounds like the OP views posting on Wrong Planet in extreme(black/white) terms where he thinks he either has to post on here constantly almost nonstop, or not post at all ever again. :?

Just an observation of his post-count, and the fact that he joined WP well less than a year ago. Maybe he should consider a more moderate approach.

Yeah, I think I might stay here. I love everyone here, in spite of a few things that have happened to me.

Without me, who would we have to talk about MLP, sports, 1980s music, vintage game shows and comedy?
