I don't mean fantasy witches, like of women with pointed noses and chins flying about on broomsticks. I mean, I seriously believe that there are witches out there. They are born with this evil streak in them, where they can treat somebody really badly but still get all the respect from everyone, whether they like her or not. They get hugged, kissed, and even missed badly when she's not about, even though they don't even know her that well. Witches can have powers over people, and although some people can be two-faced, this is beyond bitchy two-faced behaviour. I know a witch and if you met her, you would either fall for her powers and really love her even if you're not that sure if you even like her, or you won't be affected by her powers and will see that she's a witch. She did have her powers over me once upon a time, and she kept on swearing and being rude to me and usually I don't like people when they talk to me inappropriately for no reason, but I still had this strange urge to want to speak to her again and again, and I know that this must happen to all the others that love her. I know some pretty generous, friendly people, and yes they are liked but I have never met anybody in this world who is as respected as this witch. People who know her have even said how weird and stupid she is, but if she appears somewhere and beckons them, they will literally (and I mean LITERALLY) walk over to her like a zombie, as if they are suddenly under her influence. It's scary. I have even looked closely at her eyes, and this is NOT a lie - she has normal grey-ish blue eyes but with a noticeable purple ring around her pupils. She really does scare me. I now do believe in witches.

Hands up who else believes in witches!

Not so sure about this...I mean usually when I think of a witch I think of you know someone messing around with different herbs and energies of things, interacting with spirit world via ingesting some herbal substances and making concoctions/spells that can either help or hurt people....sort of like a shaman or native american medicine man or something but the European version and still not quite the same as those but there are similarities. One has to be involved in some form of witchcraft to really qualify as being one I'd think. What you describe just sounds like an unpleasant person who's very good at manipulating people and keeping them 'attatched' I ran into someone pretty much like what you describe but she certainly wasn't a witch doubt she'd know what witchcraft was if it hit her in the face.

I believe in them just would not see what you describe as being one.

*Hand up* I can't stop laughing because I'm actually a witch. I'm a spiritual atheist really, but I use the symbolism of the old religions in my everyday life since I'm obsessed with the occult. Most people actually hate me. I do seem to have a certain charisma that some people like, but I think that's just my aspie personality. People think it's interesting.

As an aside, you should read up on Wicca, Paganism, LaVeyan Satanism, whatever kind of "witch" she is. If she is really a witch, then she shouldn't be treating people like s*** unless they have done something to deserve it, such as hurt her or her family. Sounds like your "buddy" is just an evil b**** that people like for some odd reason, not a witch.

Also, the ring around her eyes is probably central heterochromia, two colors in the same iris. It probably just looks purple in a certain light. I have it. My colors are light green with hazel centers and an emerald ring.

I have like a reddish brown sort of ring around my pupils that blends into the rest of my eye color which is usually hazel, though in some light or if I wear certain colors they look more green than anything. They used to be dark brown so not sure why they gradually turned greenish hazel.

Attention getting post title. :)

The distinction being those who are Wiccans, like IAmTheCatalyst, who peacefully and holistically appreciate nature as a recognised religion. Wiccans are cool.

Entirely on the other hand, I think Joe90 is describing mean ladies.....yes, I've met them too! That's the b word though. While the mean lady you met is scary, I'm sure she has no extraordinary powers to hurt you.

Just for fun, I took an historic witch's tour in St. Andrews, and the expert guide picked me out of the crowd. She dramatically pointed at me and said, "You're a witch!" The others just giggled...it's all in fun.

she probably has a strong personality, and people prefer to be at her side because they can't win against her
this doesn't mean they like her

I believe in evil people and I believe in witches, but not that they necessarily go hand in hand. But sometimes they do. So yes, she could be an evil witch. Try to steer clear.

Nooo. Glenda the Good was the Witch of the North. I am pretty sure the house fell on the East Witch and the ruby slippers are missing. Toto dies.

That's not a witch. My stepmom was a witch-- she could pray for something, and it would happen. She KNEW things. She wasn't Pagan-- if she was anything, she was Baptist. She was A WITCH.

What you're describing is a highly socially skilled narcissist. Nothing magical about it.

i dont think i have exactly the same definitionn of witch as originall poster but a "witch" in my cultures view woulld be a little like traditionall definition, a man or woman who is somwhat or completely outside of society because of how powerfull and how antisocial or strange they are. in that way then, anyone no mattre what religion or culture they are can be a witchh if they are powerful and they arent exactly well-integrated in to rest of group, which has always made me prety incredulously at the "witches" of neo-paganism who llot of times arent powerrful at all and there is nothing tio fear or mysterious about them, but if they want to give it a non-traditionall, diferent, watery defintion, guess they can. some people woulld probably call my communne/comunity witches but we wouldnnt call ourselves that because we are our own community and part of what defines a witch is being something somewhat a part from it, whether good or bad, though guess it makes som sense on the level that we arennt part of the petty consumerist culture aruond us

To clarify, I'm not Wiccan, although I also think Wiccans are generally kind people. I definitely believe in respecting those who have done nothing to me or anyone else. I'm more into open philosophy. I'm currently into Chaos Magick. :)
