Does anyone have any tips to deal with severe emotional pain and bad memories?

Outside of finding a good professional cog-beh therapist to help you work through the issues, maybe find a PSYCH-K or Resonance Repatterning practitioner and look for some self-care methods you find work for you:

FasterEFT (demo starts at 3:30): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2kE8mQV6yI

Family Constellation work: http://familyconstellations-usa.com/workshops-events/

Lots more, but these are some of the more effective I've found.

What helped me was taking psych meds & staying busy or finding other things to focus on.

Sure thing, Turquoise773. I've been also reading a lot on sound therapy lately: https://eileenmckusick.com/why-sound/. The feeling of Tibetan singing bowls can be amazing.

Might not be your thing, but I like some of the music of Marcy Hamm, who started writing meditative music after an auto accident: http://altered-states.net (scroll down about halfway to Music Tapes and CDs and her name is on the list).

Edit: Just found this - audio files at the bottom of this page: http://altered-states.net/index2.php?/c ... ts_id=1556
