I feel the most horrible I've felt in recent memory. I was talking to RedMage on MSN just a few minutes ago, and it's her birthday in two days from now. Anyways, Anubis and I are sending her presents, and he said to me to not tell her that he hadn't sent his yet (I already have).

I was talking to her and I told her, and she got really upset and now she hates Anubis. I feel horrible because I should NOT have told her, but I did because I thought it was lying. I had no idea that Anubis told her he had sent it, either.

To top it all off, before that occurred we happened to be discussing the game that I had sent her, and she said she found it boring, so I spent $50NZ for absolutely nothing!

I dread having to tell Anubis myself this and I want to crawl into a corner and not exist anymore.

Well, it's the thought that counts.

Don't feel bad, everybody make mistakes.

I think you should tell Anubis the truth, what you did and thought and how you feel, and say "I'm sorry". Maybe he understands and forgives you; or maybe he will be angry with you, and while time passes wounds will heal and. Whatever occurs, you will feel good because you told the truth :)

I guess...

I wasn't going to pretend I didn't tell her, though...

OK, you made mistake telling the truth. At first place, Anubis should not have lied to her and nothing like this would happen.

What I don't understand most, is her point of view. Anubis is going to give her the gift, he told her he have sent it, he didn't, but he's going. What is there to be upset about? So what that he was ashamed for not sending it yet? She is receiving presents, she should not complain. Most of all, you never tell anybody who gives a gift that it was boring.

A KBABZ award is the only gift anyone needs anyway.

I agree with the above.
1)Anubis should not have lied. I abhor lying, no matter what the reason. Can lie on one thing, you can lie on other things.
2) RM is being selfish, tho if her anger is at the lie, I can somewhat identify as I hate my trust being betrayed too.
3)She is lucky she got a gift off you at all. AS isnt an excuse for hurting someone... tho I suppose it is better than her doing the whole lie thing.

I agree with Graelwyn here.

Trying to be nice and having it thrown back in your face?

KBABZ, you deserve a nice reward yourself. :)

Ah, but covering for a friend's lie
is one of the things that we must
learn to do. Though, since the police
weren't involved, I wouldn't sweat it.

From my correspondence with her RedMage sounds like she has serious 'issues' (to put it politely) of her own. You're best staying away from people like that. They aren't worth the time of day.

Some people don't get presents. Or food.

You seem rather naive. Some things are definitely better off not mentioned, and it definitely isn't lying.

Tim, I was going to ask you to do something that would help me out greatly, but I don't think that will work now!

I'm sorry!

Don't worry about it too much. It's probably just a knee jerk reaction. I'm sure she'll calm down in time.
