I don't think I'll ever have a job. One day I will be kicked out by my parents and I'll have to adopt the homeless lifestyle.
One could take shelter in various public buildings and drink water from fountains, so the only real problem is finding food. Can one survive by eating from dumpsters and panhandling?

Two of my sisters were homeless off and on for a few years after moving out of our parent's home. They did some pan-handling, but also cleaned houses and cared for people's pets until they'd saved up money for rent and deposit. And yes, they did dumpster-dive, too. I suspect that they will occasionally do that even now that they're both fully employed and living in house (and have been for many years now). That said, I'd say it depends on your environment. Some communities are easier on homeless people than others, and freezing to death or dying of exposure is a real risk. So is violent crime and theft.

Roachie,

I'm in the same situation,
But all I can do is keep applying and hope something will stick.
Sales is good, because you learn how to sell stuff, and there's no experience necessary.

It's all about what you can accept when learning how to survive.
I mean, when on the street, you still have to struggle and survive.
I'd rather struggle and survive in a sh***y job and still afford an ok place to live, than
struggling and surviving on the street.

Do you live in America ?

I'd love to be homeless in Japan, because Japan has practically ZERO crime, and you don't have to worry about violence or theft.

Try Hotels, some have night shifts that let you be alone mostly.

Best Wishes buddy, and don't give up
Just do what you can do and don't beat yourself up about all this

There a guy on WP who has been homeless for years. He's not having a pleasant time right now.

I know Bucharest gets very very cold in the winter--so I wouldn't think homelessness is a viable option there, or in any other part of Romania. There are probably hoodlums who beat up homeless people, too.

Then, the cops will probably chase you out of the public buildings when they do their "sweeps." There are also corrupt cops who will try to separate you from your money.

There's worse things in the world than going for an accounting degree.

I've been to Bucuresti several times, and wandered all over the city. It's not a place to be homeless in. Budapest is very similar.

For now you're at university and have somewhere to live, so use that time to research all your options for when you graduate. On another thread you were wondering about languages as a career, so why not see what the various EU institutions have to offer. There are plenty of interpreting and translating jobs at the European Parliament and the European Commission. Although Romanian is a minority language (I'm one of the few people in the UK who translates Romanian literature), Romania is keen to be more involved in the EU, so maybe that will provide openings.

Don't look at life as just surviving. You're perfectly capable of flourishing.

Getting a degree is easy, getting a job is a different story.

Since Romania is keen to be admitted to the European Union, I would bet there is a market for good accountants.

Good accountants could get Romania out of their foreign debt, so other European countries would desire their admittance to the European Union.

Set the bar really low, though slightly above being homeless, and you might end up being less dissapointed with life but still be able to survive as an aspie. Find a menial job that you can do and is sustainable, rather than having your sights set high and end up hitting nothing and missing everything. At least that will be my strategy from now on. If something comes along and you have the chance to move up, good, if not, oh well, at least you survive. It is hard to be dissapointed when you don't have much or any expectations.

Maybe you're thinking about Schengen zone? Romania is already in the European Union.

Accountants don't control economic activity, they just keep track of it.

But they make sure their employers budget properly.

Yeah...Maybe I mean the Schegen Zone.
