Support groups for what?
And where?
Google may help.
Searching the website of your local association for whatever it is would probably be best.

Good luck in your search!

from: http://www.autismottawa.com/

Aspirations
A group for adults and older teens (ages 16 and up) with Asperger Syndrome. Mutual support, guest speakers, educational activities - and fun! Parents, other relatives, friends, and professionals are also welcome to attend. Group meets the Third Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m., except during the summer.

Contact: Paul Anderson - [email protected] or 613.725.0459
Or: Bob Basil 613.723.8488

Note that they don't meet during the summer, sorry.

Meeting others with AS is the most important thing you will ever do.

You could always ask your therapist about support groups. I was at one time in a support group that my neuropsychologist recommended.

As an adult with Asperger's I have found a complete lack of services. I receive my psychological therapy through the VA. However they don't have a diagnosis specific Support group. I then went online and found a number of support groups for parents with Children with austism spectrum disorders. Although the Group isn't benificial I continue going to it in hopes that I might glean something from it.

How many times have you reminded her to help you look for support groups? Like I said, I found a support group through a therapist.

quite a few
I don't have a theripist
I battle alone and suffer alone
I rarely even vent to my parents
they have no idea I'm sad right now
and they rarely ever do

Why don't you vent to your parents? It's healthy to vent and let go of your anger and sadness. Especially to your parents. Just make sure that you don't explode on them.

Maybe you should talk to them. Do they know about ALL of the major characteristics of AS?

yes but they're not gonna treat me any different
they don't really get it
you see
they want to help but get mad at me because they can't-well my dad does
this is what I think
I don't much care for my father  I love him but our relationship has soured in the last year
