Oh no....& it might be my fault. At present, I am hectically busy and under real stress! I have a lot of critical data, documents, spreadsheets, etc. on my laptop. While I do back-up periodically, I have a lot to lose just now. Real hardship to lose it

Yesterday I gently vacuumed my keyboard with a sock over the vacuum cleaner attachment. Then gently cleaned the around the keyboard with a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol. In fact, I periodically vacuum my keyboard in this way.

My hard drive has failed. Contacting the computer shop, I was told that vacuuming the keyboard creates a static charge that can wipe a hard drive! I'm friendly with the IT guys - they're the best! I do hope they can salvage my hard drive....really awful timing
