Whenever the going gets tough, I always remember the special relationship I have with music. It's the greatest gift I was ever given. I think I would literally die without it. So, if for whatever reason you feel like "taking the easy way out", think of a song you love, look it up on Spotify (or if you want to take the old school approach, look for it in your record collection) play it loudly and proudly, and thank your Maker that you're still here.

Music is pure awesome. I have clawed my way out of the worst emotional crapstorms with it's help. In fact, as my tastes in music have broadened as I've got older it became clearer it wasn't really ever about the music itself, but the completeness of listening to it. There's a short story I read some time back that alleged listening to music 'completes a circle': abstract concept perhaps, but there's no doubt we're not alone in needing it.
