My roomie & I lost our jobs :(
Right now, worldwide, everyone is terrified of termination/ downsizing/ office or branch or store closing;
For Autistics/Aspergergians, it is an absolute nightmare!
I am so sorry that you and your roommate are going through this!
I hope for the best for you!

Well roomie didn't after all & I'm working on it anyway.
I'll keep WP posted, gotta apply for quite a lot pretty soon. Chances are that will keep me awake on the internet.

Yes and no.
Not everywhere in the world are people facing job losses and complete income losses etc. Our government is giving everyone who’s out of work due to covid $ to survive long enough until vaccines roll out and things begin to normalize. At first it was $2000/mo gross before tax for ~6 months. Now it’s $1800/mo after tax for the next 6 months. Sure, it doesn’t completely replace full time income and some peoples rent is more than that for a one bedroom apartment, but it’s enough to survive without a job for as long as people have to double up and have roommates etc.
Yes, this pandemic is global. But no, we’re not all facing the same hardships. And yes, even with gov’t supports each individual’s case varies within a single city even. I can park both my vehicles, go nowhere, and live like a relative King on $1800/mo while others here can’t even make rent let alone afford food etc.
But my point is we’ve not ALL been left hung out to dry & completely fend for ourselves with no jobs or income. Some of us will face great difficulties, others of us will get fat eating good food & drinking good drink just biding our time until schedules & routines normalize again.

I actually have an old tail bone injury acting up, probably because of how much I've been sitting at a computer. Indeed this isn't the worst time to be a beer geek who knows some technology but that's not to say it hasn't been catching up with me. Hopefully I can do a little skiing maybe. At the very least I have to do more hiking even if it's just to stay sane. I did budget for some fancy brakes on my mountain bikes though.
The stupid thing in America is that it's obvious to me I have to take time off work to stay healthy but it's been years since I found a chance to do that; I have a lot of applications to write this week & only so many places I can send them, it's the only way to get any funding for me.
There's an internship or two in Berkeley I might be qualified for but I'm in no mood to ditch Colorado, one of few places in the universe where more than one person knows me. I pinged that company to see if maybe there's remote work I could do...
There's no way I see a responsible means to actually move elsewhere in the quarantine anyway. At least I'm enjoying what I can of the unending staycation.

Well I guess I'm theoretically re-hired eventually, not that I know what I'll be doing yet but I do know I'll get to keep studying through at least some of the tech I was meaning to.
I'm thankful for all the time I can spend doing almost nothing until then. It's not easy to get a vacation from the construction industries these days.
