Where can I get some cyanide pills to take when WWIII breaks out? I know a lot of people are buying radiation pills, but the side effects sound really bad and who wants to live in a world ravaged by nuclear war anyway?

Maybe I'll just overdose on sleeping pills or whatever.

Or just maybe not jump to assuming the worse-case scenario is guaranteed?

Sometimes you have to tell your own tendencies towards catastrophic thinking to shut the f**k up and go away because taking them seriously all the time is deeply maladaptive. Like seriously, what does it add to your life but stress and misery?

That is probably a waste of time.

From what I have read, modern sleeping pills are devised so that even if you take the entire bottle, it is unlikely to kill you.

A few years ago, one woman on here said that she had taken a bottle of sleeping pills and was saying goodbye. I did my best to try to figure out who she was and where she lived by what she had said, but that didn't work out.

After two or three days, she was back! She had taken the entire bottle of sleeping pills and all it did was make her sleep for two or three days.

By the way, I had a colonoscopy this past week. I told one of the doctors about a dream I had a few months ago in which I was having a colonoscopy and woke up to find that there was nobody in the room. The scope was still there and I had to remove it myself. It turned out in the dream that the nuclear attack warnings were going off and everyone headed for somewhere safe.

The doctor laughed and said that they would always pull the scope out before running away.

Due to bullying and just being unhappy overall with his school experience, my son has asked to switch to online school, so I’m going to be working on that this week.

I wish that I could afford to move somewhere with a better school district. I’m saying that as someone who worked as a teacher here. My area is very poor, very conservative/religious, and very regressive. Some of the bullying he experienced was related to expressing a different point of view, and it’s not been appropriately handled which isn’t surprising.

Thanks!

Hopefully, it’ll just be for the next year and a half. The high school here is a bit better or maybe moving will be an option by then. I’m not worried about his education because some online programs are really good. I’m mostly concerned about socialization.

Yeah that's what I'd be most concerned about as well

There might be places to go for a few hours a week where other home school children go for a bit of a social

I know a few home school kids from going skating

Their parents take them and they get proper one to one coaching plus they socialise with each other and they are brilliantly talented and very well socialised so it can work

It's actually opened my eyes to how many kids are alternatively educated

I wish you both well anyway TP

I found a couple programs I really like the sounds of. For the closest one, it would be a 45 minute drive to take him to activities/meetups which is a bit further than I’d like, but it looks good overall. These schools are ranked much higher than my local school district which isn’t surprising.

Before I taught here in my own classroom, I subbed as an aide and teacher throughout the school district and saw some…interesting things.

And plus it'd get you out of the house as well

It could actually work out for you both in more ways than one
