Do you want to have monologue when you die?

I can't really remember when I first thought of it but I don't really care how I die as long as I get to have a monologue before perishing. I often toy with the prospect of the classic catching a bullet for someone and then getting to have a monologue out loud to the person that bullet really belonged to. I don't know why, but it just really appeals to me. So, I hope I have some time between dying and being dead so that I can have my wish.

Does anybody else want a monologue before dying?

I don't think so. I'd probably rather be alone. I wouldn't know what to say to anybody. I hope that I've said it all before then.

What would you say?

"Phew, almost forgot I'm immortal" would be preferable. If only.

With my last breath, I would like to pretend that I am about to reveal an incredible secret. Then promptly die before telling them what it was.

I would very much want a monologue before death. A dying man's words carry a lot of weight. I've often imagined words I would say to this girl I know. I would hope my words would straighten her out.

I suppose it would depend on the situation. But I could certainly do a monologue just for myself, since I'm doing it for myself and not for others. But one thing I'll be sure to do is to die with a smile, since I've had a lot of fun. I just feel a certain warmth at the thought of dying in such a manner. It's rather comforting really.

If I die before my ex husband I'm going to tell him in a serious voice that I buried about 50 grand in the yard... *evil laugh*

I want my last words in life to be "I told you it was flammable!" and have it printed on my tomb stone as well

the traditonal phrase in my neck of the woods is 'hey y'all, watch this'...
I am tempted to have my funeral start late, just to give truth to the rumor...

Don't you mean a "Eulogy"...a laudatory speech or written tribute of praise... given at one's funeral? I never heard of a "monologue" at one's death. But for some individuals, maybe it is a dramatic monologue.



Just a thought...

When you are born, you are the one crying and all those around you are smiling.
One should live life so that when you die...all those around you will be crying and you will be the one smiling.

I want to have a written monologue. I'd write my last words down and then a member of my family would find the note and would finally see my brilliance.

Yeah, I want to leave a monologue, a video-recorded one, which I've already done. I've left instructions to have the DVD played at my funeral, so that if two or more people actually show up to send me off, I'll have a few final parting shots. Afterwards, they won't feel so bad that I'm dead. The people I care about already know how I feel about them, so they'll know that portion of the service doesn't apply to them.

The opening lines of my monologue are: "Greetings friends and neighbors! Since you're only here to make sure I'm really dead, I have only two words for you.....'

I think I would like to have a few "last words" if given the option. I would not want a monologue. Instead, I would utter a memorable sentence of just a few words, something that could be worked into my eulogy, etched on my tombstone, and cited in my biography (were I to have one).

Unfortunately, this contradicts my preferred method of dying. I would like to die alone in the wilderness and be devoured by wild animals. Ideally, my body would be used so efficiently by these creatures that no human would ever discover my remains.

Go die in Africa. Hyenas.

I would like to have a message or something inscribed in stone or some permanent form, and then burried deep in a forest or high in a mountain. The idea that it could be discovered some day by another person appeals to me, because it would be long after all traces of my life had vanished from the records.

Among the many scenarios I playout in my mind are the ones where I die a heroic death with a heart-wrenching 'monologue' at the end... ala.. Hollywood, I guess

At my mother's service two weeks ago, I got tired of being in the chapel and went outside where various family members would migrate in and out from.
I had shown up a couple of minutes after the start of the family viewing period so I remarked how I was going to stipulate in my will that everyone show up at a certain time.. wait... wait some more... then I finally show up!

I am seriously late to almost everything in mylife... I really want to be late for my own funeral.
Plus.. I just want it to be FUN!
I detest all those dreary, long drawn-out services.
