Vetivert inspired Vegetarian Comfort Food Here
I am down to my last carnivorous choices - pigs and cows don't like me, and now the birds are giving me sidewise looks.
Back to green bean curry and salad.
I'll start another non-veggie thread for you carnivores elsewhere.

Oops. Please post recipes or just talk about your favorites.

I honestly don't know where to start. Hmmm, maybe copy and paste the entire Moosewood Cookbook? lol

Spinach lasagna and Stuffed pizza (filled with mozzarella and spinach and garlic) would be a good start. Then there's eggplant, wonderful eggplant....I'm getting hungry and it's almost midnight!

Bread and chocolate are vegitarian and comfort foods of mine, or are we talking more vegan-like stuff?

Veggie sausages, mashed potato (made with lots of marge and pepper), and veggie gravy. Mmmmm.

Jacket potato, mashed with lots of marge, strong chedder, and baked beans.

Hearty soup and garlic bread.

one of my favorite foods! ranks right up there with asparagus, brussels sprouts and spinach...uh-oh, don't get me started. I'll eat almost anything green once - when I had my garden I never had to bring lunch. The ultimate comfort food - eating in the garden from the garden - tomatoes, peppers, luttuce, basil, peas, nasturtiums - and sorrel growing like weeds! Blueberries, blackberries and white raspberries for dessert.
oops. um, eggplant - I grew eggplant this year too, but I had to go home to cook it. I like eggplant in and on everything (pizza!). Yum, yum.

(chamoisee is jealous!) I have tried several times to grow eggplant, but it just doesn't like my climate. Even in the greenhouse, I think I only got one fruit (and was thrilled to get that!). Eggplant has got to be my favorite veggie, with artichokes and spinach tying for second. I even like eggplant raw... :)

Other good vegetarian food- tofu and tempeh, as long as they aren't cooked as phony cheese or meat. They are good in their own right, sort of like carob- nice but defnitely different from chocolate.

It took me a few years to get it right - the season is very short here (New England). I got four decent sized and one midget from six plants.

Vivi's Grand Unified Theory Recipe for Everything:

1. get nice food.
2. prepare, according to preference.
3. insert in face.
4. chew, suck or just swallow, depending on food/mood/legality/hygiene.
