It’s because he really needs our help. He’s in a “worse” place than most of us are.

I don’t believe in coddling—not by a long shot.

I believe he realizes that being in attack/defensive mode doesn’t work all the time. I believe he’s making a decent effort to be civil these days.

If has any intentions of conning anyone, we will be quite vigilant about it.

I'll admit I don't always understand ASS-P's word salad entries. They do confuse me because, at times, they resemble schizophasia, a disorganized thought pattern often seen in hebephrenia - disorganized schizophrenia.

I can understand him fairly well most of the time. Most of the problem lies in his lack of editing (perhaps because of time restraints).

There are also time when it seems "autocorrect" supersedes what he wants to write---and he doesn't have the time to correct it. Some other posters on WP experience a similar problem.

He has a sort of "stream of consciousness" type of thing going in his writing. Which could seem like "schizophrenic word salads."

It could be he actually has a "thought disorder." It could be he doesn't feel he has time to edit, and not a "thought disorder." More like a "disorder" in typing.

I also believe part of the problem lies in his use of substandard equipment, and his time constraints (when he's on a library computer).

I’ve been typing on a phone for weeks because my MacBook charger died and I haven’t bothered to replace it yet. My posts are still fairly coherent. I’m confident it’s not the device he’s typing on, but rather that it’s just his communication style, he doesn’t know any better, or he just doesn’t care.

One thing I wish he’d communicate is what his cash flow and expenses are. It’s be nice to see a breakdown of what comes in and what goes out in order to understand why he’s often in a position where he feels his best option is self harm via “overly sugaring himself,” in order to get admitted to the ER overnight, or doesn’t have $6 for bus fare to make it to an Optometrist appointment, or money for food etc especially since he’s not paying rent anywhere.

You're probably right, though. He probably doesn't manage his money well.

KK this is not directed at you (just to clarify).

Some posters seem to be tending to post about the OP rather than to him - referring to him in the 3rd person. This is a very sidelining kind of approach which may be hurtful rather than supportive.

This is probably not the best approach in The Haven, because it easily becomes talking about people, rather than with them. This tends to be very marginalising to OPs who were already marginalised. It can be harmful; it can be passive aggressive. It is rarely helpful. The Haven is about support, not causing new damage to a distressed member, WHOEVER IT IS.

Generally, aim for good will posting in The Haven. Diagnosing, criticising, calling out OPs (any OPs) is not good practice here.

...To-day, due to my aching back and to the fact that I fell down on the sidewalk yesterday, as well as other medical reasons, I went to HPHP.
I REALLY need a place to not go out all day and not have to carry a massive amount of luggage with me - Setting me up for a possible remaining lifetime of agony .
My back appears to have gotten worse in just the last few days . That aside, I believe...on Sunday, walking down the sidewalk, I tripped on a dip in the sidewalk and fell down on it . I banged my left knee, scraped my left arch, and the HPHP nurse said that my Adina was back I believe in both my lower legs.
After this, I am walking even slower . Basically, I have to try and get into the HSC emergency-type shelter to have somewhere to stay and and not have to go out and be able to leave stuff there when I do and hopefully have my back recover and attend to other medical things. That seems to be the only attainable think now that would let me rest my back and not go out and attend to medicals - I presume/hope three institutional meals a day as well. Whatever I might do in the longer run - I have to get better now.
They entered my name in the lottery list for if there was a bed available at the HSC shelter - which I guess is the recovery shelter I spoke of before or similar. There was no bed available to-day but they said to enter every open day. I will.

Did they admit you to the hospital? What did they do for you?

....i, I did not get readmitted to the hospital , a bad back, etc., does't get you admitted. Please re-read my above post, I expanded it a lot. No, I am not in the Motel Santa Cruz, I will not go back there... Haven't I made it clear as to why? I believe there are two more weeks oasis for under the initial concept - Well, I reported the theft to the Santa Cruz police and my belief that the MSC did it, they took my report and gave me a case number, I gave that and the phone number to the BYS lawyer, who, though it's my money, made the payment to MSC and received the receipt, he can see if he can get some money back.
I am back at the SA shelter. It's alright. I am, delicately, alright and not very?? pained, though I believe walkng slower still post-the fall - Because I managed to spend pretty much the while day at the HPHP and the next-to-it Homeless Services Center, where that shelter I above write about is. I can't do that every day. I ate the SA's light breakfast - Some hot oatmeal, raisins, milk, a teeny bit of coffee - then had no solid food all day, till the SA's dinner at night.

I know what happened to you at the previous hotel. I was thinking you might be at some other hotel.
