If she does not want a romantic relationship, get over her ASAP!

what he said

Forget it. I am willing to wait however long it takes for her to be ready for a relationship. Especially because there are no other female Aspies who are single, like South Park, and practice Christianity.

basing your search for the opposite sex on a tv show is the dumbest thing you can do (pretty much)
seriously, plus South Park kinda sucks and offends many

Well Kilroy, if you were female (which I know you're not) you wouldn't be suitable for Tim on the basis of that last comment on South Park :)

But... I wonder... would you be interested in a girl who hated Phil Collins?

Actually, my wife doesn't share my love for Dr Who and there's a lot of music I can't play with her in the house (eg: Bjork) but we do have other music that we both like.

Interests aren't everything - but the same sorts of moral values are a must.

It's like that Simpsons episode where Selma marries Sideshow Bob, and then she starts crying after he insults McGuyver.
Selma: That MacGyver's a genius.
Sideshow Bob: First of all, he's not a genius. He's an actor.
And second, he's not <much> of an actor.
Selma: [refusing to believe] You're lying! You're lying!
Sideshow Bob: No, Selma. <This> is lying.
[puts on an absurd smile]
That was a well-plotted piece of nonclaptrap that never
made me want to retch.

I probably wouldn't react *that* way.

There are no female Aspies in either Austin or San Antonio who are single.

Even dropping the other criteria will not improve things. Every female Aspie in both of those cities--regardless of whether they meet the other criteria--is already in a relationship.

In other words, if the only criteria was that she be an Aspie, I wouldn't meet anyone in either of those cities.

I don't date NTs because I have had a lot of bad luck with them.

Tim--

My neighbor is married to an HFA guy who has his own interests (he's on the computer all the time and is into sci-fi while she's into gardening and her pets). Now, she does work with special needs kids and maybe a woman who has a better understanding of some of the so-called quirks that come as part of the package might be a better match (for example, my friend is not put off when her spouse does not want to be touched, and is okay with the fact that there will never be any perfume or scented candles in their home). And. lest you give up hope that there are compatible women out there, she's religious (I don't know where she is on "South Park", but I curse like a sailor and she likes me). Surely she can't be the only one that fits this description.

Me, with my AS & ADHD, have been married since '98 (together since '96) to an NT guy (a cop, no less, an Eagle Scout--so talk about a by-the-book kind of guy). We have some common interests (such as, we do it up big every Halloween, turning the frontyard into a cemetary with lights, fog, sound, corpses, the works. But we have less in common than we have in common (his film and musical tastes are an embarrassment, and being an NT he's all about the "right" thing, whereas with me it's a crapshoot as to what you might get). But somehow, we make it work.

Good luck, and hang in there. :)

Actually Tim, there's really no need for that aspie criteria either.

A lot of NTs understand aspies, particularly those who have been associated with them (brothers etc).

Why was being an aspie so important again? Do you really think that you're so different that you couldn't go out with an NT?

I had been in a relationship with an NT, and she cheated on me. My second relationship was with a fellow Aspie, and she didn't cheat on me.

Thus, I came to the conclusion that Aspies do not lie or cheat.

Tim,

That's a very circumstantial conclusion. Have you considered creating a poll that says;

For Aspies only...
Have you ever lied or cheated (even just the once) in a relationship;

1. Yes Both
2. Lied, not Cheated
3. Cheated, not lied
4. Neither
5. Never been in a relationship

This would give you more reliable feedback.

I'm sure that there are quite a few NTs who have never lied or cheated too.
