Whoa Fossy. That message from the mod was practically incoherent! The hostility was really coming through, though. Ugh. 8O :x

You are better off without boards like that.

This is the advice I received, and it's good. 8)

It was hard for me to pull back emotionally, though, since I had invested so much, and it might be the same for you - so vent away as much as you need to.

What was your board experience? did you share on here?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. I remembered your post I just didn't connect the person with the post. Sorry if I just sounded really ignorant asking you that. :(

I quit myspace forums. And soon, i'll probably quit these too, for good this time. I can't have time to keep posting and keeping up with all the threads, its not healthy. I'll eventually just reply to pm's and email when I go on my computer, then get straight off. (not in a sexual way) 8O

It isn't healthy. It's addictive behavior. Well some people can do it in a healthy way, but for others it's very difficult to not get obsessed with it.

Especially aspies. For me I have found that it has become like a special interest..... except even more so.

yeah, i've been out of control with them, not so much on here, cause its a slower process. But on myspace, I was like arguing on 5 sperate threads, at like 100mph, and end up staying on till 7am :(

Of course not. This is a very active board! Hope you're feeling better.

(And you can add my name to the list of people who "surf too much". )

On one forum I was at, even though the forums were private some of the admins were growing increasingly paranoid that anti-piracy organisations were going to sue them. Eventually, when the webmaster was on holiday one of the admins banned virtually everyone who hadn't posted for a few days regardless of prior activity. I was among those people, and it is the only forum I have been banned from. The webmaster subsequently came back and stated that anyone who was banned from those forums for no good reason could contact him and he could reverse it, but I didn't feel like I wanted to return to the place.

I recently had a bad experience on a music-related forum where the main moderator mistakes herself for the Thought Police (and absolutey HATES emoticons BTW).

*snip*

This made me just about explode because not only did she make it all about HER, and not anyone else lurking (by this time the thread had over 14,000 hits)

Interesting update: The thread in question now has over 23,000 (! !!) hits, despite the fact that I deleted 90% of the links in the thread (leaving only ones in which another posted quoted me; not many of those). What a strange animal forums are!

:?: :!: :?: :!:

I was banned from a forum because a mod hijacked my thread and got me banned because I was complaining. I had the right to complain. I was treated unfairly by that mod. He is banned for now which is good because I hated that jerk. i made a new name and whatnot, buy they eventually found out and now I am banned from the IRC channel and do not post as much as I used to. i still am nerbvous about making threads because you never know where you can find forum Nazis.

I got banned from the VGCats.com forum.
Apparently, I posted a thread with a link to a *naughty* website in it.
That'll teach me to have Xtube and Youtube open at the same time...
I also asked a mod to ban me from an anime forum last year whilst I was recovering from my breakdown. I was in a weird place at the time but I'm back on with a new account. They all know it's me, though.
I don't post there nearly as often as I used to.

Well, it wasn't a forum, but... I spammed up an Oekaki when I was, like... ten. XD

I got banned. Eh heh.

I looked at it the other day. It is a weird system that i have never seen before on a board. It appears that instead of the mods being able to ban, the mod has to put it to a vote system and ask all members. Though it seems democratic, I dont think that is a very good way to do this- it pretty much amounts to publicly humiliating the person who is to be banned.

Those are the mods and people who were made 'senators' in the board 'government'...lol

Oh yea...I remember ~2005 going on TOTSE's forum from 4-9 PM while doing homework....man I was addicted...still am a TOTSEan but not so addicted..

Its not easy, being on boards. I remember the first board I ever posted on, back in 2004. I used to put up threads and post and noone ever replied to my posts and threads... they either seemed to think my posts were too odd, or something I was doing was not hitting the right note.... I think posting is nearly as complicated as real-life communication, though real life is so so much more confusing.

people on TOTSE say I'm weird in how I flame back (if someone tells me to "Shut the f**k up" I'd tell them to "Shut the f**k Down!" and/or tell them go Goatse themselves..lol.

Yeah, same for me in internet forums when I first posted.

Now that I think about it, I do remember some people saying the way I posted and typed and the like was weird (some guy said "something was missing" he said or I was "really f*****g stupid" or "I was 8 years old"..lol that predates my diagnosis by a year or so)
