You can get crystal rock chemical free deodorant, which is basically a type of salt that you rub under your arms after a shower. It works quite well, but has to be put on when your body is WET.

I went to see Dr. Temple Grandin speak at a Autism conference about personal hygiene. She relates a story of her first boss, a rough cattleman coming into her work area, banging down a tube of Mitchum's Heavy Duty deodorant/antiperspirant and telling her in no uncertain terms "Your pits stink, use this or don't come back." I laughed in recognition, few around me laughed, but they were mostly caregivers and medical professionals.

I had this issue when I was younger ( 14-18 ). My mom and friends would tell me I sometimes smelled a bit funky and I never been one to use deodorants and perfume, could never take the smell. My mom used to nag at me 3 times a day to take a shower, thing is that I did and I guess I was just in a very sweaty stage in my youth.

I have noticed that people seem to have a more potent body odor in their puberty years, and for most women, menopause signals a return to strong body odor as well.

Menthol powder....

I do not use any deodorant or antiperspirant. Never did for I kinda hate stuff artificial as such on my body. Um, what I do is.. I shave my armpits.. approximately once a month.. and, of course, I shower on a daily basis.. sometimes twice even.. plus (the crux here, for me) I use menthol powder under my armpits after showering.

How about you use roll on deodorant?

Man, I'd have the neighbours pack up and go if I didn't wear deodorant. I seem to smell after the slightest sweat. I don't care about the chemicals in it. It smells good and makes me smell good.

Yeah, you can get (near) odourless roll on deodorant. People don't really take too kindly to body odour.

Pay attention to any hair growth in the armpit. Get regular baking soda in the yellow box, and lather up your pit hair with what every you wash with, and dump about a teaspoon full of the soda into the hollow of your hand and lather again letting the soda melt into the lather and scrub away. . Leave it on while you wash the rest of you (you can do it on your hair with shampoo, too as it will de-grease and de-dandruff) and then rinse very well. The soda neutralizes the accumulated build up of odoriferous dander, oils, sweat, bacteria and whatnot all into the lather. The hairs become squeaky clean and what ever you do use for deodorant will have a fighting chance.

That sounds good, sinsboldly! I'm gonna try that! I also think that body odor is a result of diet, and bowel habits. Since I started using pro-biotics and fiber, I don't have as many problems with body odor as before.

This is what i used when I started using deodorant when i was 14. I used it very rarely though because I tend to forget but this stuff is really popular and is hyper effective, can be bought in the pharmacy (in Swe). Translates to "Absolutely Dry".

amen, what we eat really affects the odors we produce. I wanted to remind all that pubic hair can also do with a burst of lather and baking soda, too.
