What is so bad about The Kinks????

My favourite song by them is "Who will be the next in line?"
Please help me get the title correct, I don't remmeber
things.
I first heard that song when I was 9 and I loved it,
I can dance to it.

I know, its only one song, but I like it
it reminds me of when I was 9 in my room
with all my shortwave equipment listening
to the "cold war" broadcasts all over the
world, and tuning my big satellite antenna
to evestdriop on xxxxx spy listen on the
TV stations and I'd have my tape going,
with Kinks, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Jan and Dean
and doing electronic experiments.

Those were the days of U-Matic video recorders,
reel to reel tapes, satellite telly, and shortwave radio.

Don't go! :(

And don't stop talking about your obession either! This is an Aspie forum, we should be able to talk about our obsessions here of all places!

I don't care who it annoys, I'd never stop talking about my obsessions.

Rolls-Royces are amazing... :D

Last night was a pretty wild ride. I've sent that character two message. One giving her a piece of my mind, and another one, telling her not to send anymore messages, if all she was going to do, was hurt me. I had to rough somebody up, because I had no choice. When I have no choice, and I have to inflict that little bit of pain, just to get the attacker to think, it feels very awkward, for me. I did what I had to do.

Did it feel good? Not really. Was it necessary? Unfortunately, yes. That's the reason that I've told people not to send any PMs, when I came back to post here and speak my mind, full time. There might be another character around the corner. If I get banned for this one post, I'll take it as it comes. I don't wish to be banned. I just need to blow off some steam.

Don't understand that, myself. They were, like different. We all liked them in my neighborhood.

And if one can't go onandonandon about one's favorite thing here, then where? :D

If I can't by myself here, I might as well remove the part of my brain that regulates my personality, or rip my vocal chords out.

Perhaps you could start a Kinks appreciation thread in an appropriate area of the forum?

That's the thing about the world, today. Not everybody loved them in the 60s, either.

As far as sixties music goes, I'm a Floyd fan. I dont' know much about the Kinks. I know I really like "Living on a Thin Line" quite a lot.

Your posts have never bothered me in the slightest. In fact when I read a thread, you're one of the people who I actually hope will post on that thread. I hope you stick around.

I'll be sticking around, with a vengeance. I'll also be posting with a vengeance, as well. When people try to cause trouble with someone that they deem as a helpless case, they're actually hoping that the particular person will leave. I will not give any of my attackers, past present or future the satisfaction of me walking off into the mist. I will fight the good fight, and keep posting about what's on my mind at any given moment. The reason that I seem to be posting about my special interests a lot, is because I'm also posting about everything else a lot, as well. Some members might want to sneak up behind me and try to cure me, but at the end of the day, it's really none of their business. I don't want to be cured. I want to be free.

I hope so as well. There's always a kind of enthusiasm in your posts, what ever you may be speaking about, that is cheering up.

Talking here at WrongPlanet is what cheers me up. I love sitting at the keyboard, saying anything here, that I wouldn't be able to say off the Internet. I'm not just talking about obsessions, either. I'm also talking about anything that the typical world might not be able to comprehend. This is the only place that I can come, for support. My local mental health system won't take me back in. This place serves a double service for me. It's a place to have fun, and it's a place to come for support and acceptance. I'm like a man. I need acceptance. I need to feel accepted the way that I am. Men need acceptance and women need to feel appreciated. I'm like a man. I need to feel accepted.

Yeah, really. What's so bad about The Kinks. I really think that some people need to get their heads around that. People fear what they don't understand. There are some people who take it one step farther and let it be known to that quirky individual, in a not so pleasant way, that they fear what they don't understand. They might try to rough a person up, or try to get rid of the person, by attacking them, or putting them down. It's 2010, for crying out loud. Everybody on the face of this planet should be able to just be themselves and speak their minds, without feeling that there's a bully standing around the corner, waiting to pounce on them, every chance that they get. This is more true at WrongPlanet, than it is, anywhere else on the Internet or in the real world. If anybody has anything bad to say about anybody's special interests and obsessions, or the level of the functioning of a fellow WP member, than they can save it, for my least favourite organization - Autism Speaks.

I like you. I don't really know the Kinks that well but I wouldn't have a go at you for posting about them. Same as if I post about rabbits (my interest) I wouldn't expect anyone to object. Oh well I suppose we have to accept that some people are only on here to cause trouble... Ignore them and just talk to the ones who are nice! :)

I'm going to stay and I'm going to talk about whatever I want. No instigator is going to take my freedom away from me. I already have over 28000 posts, here at WP. It would be a shame if I were to vanish, now.

This is my staying video:

I'm going back to bed, until my alarm goes off. I just hope I did the right thing, dealing with that one person. I'll be back...in an hour.

Ignore the bad ones and talk to the good ones. I like that idea. I enjoy reading your posts about rabbits. :) The thing about websites that have over 1000 active members, is that it should be expected that somebody might try to stir the pot, every now and again. People like that can't see past the tips of their noses, and they expect the rest of us, to live life in their eyes. I'm going to keep coming and posting. There are always going to be a few bad apples, in every group and this is something that I'm going to have to face. This is something that we're all going to have to face. Some people more than others, I guess. I had to arm myself, last night. It didn't feel too good, though.

That's life.

Um......er.....I'm a newbie but I was delighted to find a forum where I could say what I want (within the parameters of not being mean) and not get raked over the coals for being obsessed w/something or not being "normal". I've only been here a few days but if someone said something like that to me about my obsessions (languages, meteorology/tornadoes, science, my current fave musician Dan Balan) I'd tell them to kindly [insert obscenity of choice here] themselves. I have to "tone it down" for the rest of the world. I'll be [bleeped] if I'm going to do it where ppl are supposed to be tolerant of our differences.

BTW, I'd say "If I want your opinion, I'll give it to you"...LOL :) (a line from a movie I've seen no less than 10 times, Twister..

You should have seen the PM that I've sent that person. I said some pretty blunt things, not to be hurtful, but to put her in her place. I've also asked her not to send me any more messages. I was armed and dangerous. That's also a very funny line. I remember that line from the movie, Twister. That was a good movie. 8)

I think that some people need to remember the old saying, "If you can't find anything nice to say, than don't say anything, at all." I think that my attacker needs to think about that one. I was armed and dangerous, because I was attacked. If I wasn't attacked, I wouldn't have acted that way.

I was raked over the coals, last night and it's time for me to post on.

I see the reason there.

If I am atttacked/krittasized/insulted
(its all the same to me) then they shood
not expect a positive reaction from me,
they should expect a tantrum or a bunch
of errors such as "No such file or directory"
or "Command not found". Yeah. I'm a bit
of a unix nerd.

I tride 10000000000000000 times already,
but I just can never seem to even remember
to give a positived responce to attacks,
something always malfunctions and I tantrum.

CR, I'm glad you're staying. You've always stood out as one of the more interesting and prominent characters in this place. It wouldn't be the same without you.

I've always appreciated and accepted the vitality you bring to your obsessions. I find it endearing. I like quirkiness, and the variety among people. I'd hate to see someone leave for something along the lines of "not fitting in". That would be especially silly here, where we're all misfits of one sort or another.

Btw, "It's My Life" by The Animals rocks. It's one of my theme songs.

Here's another version for your enjoyment (and staying power):
